I am led to this sad conclusion after PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) submitted its forensic audit report of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC). In a nutshell, PWC reveals there was no such thing as 'missing 20billion dollars' as alleged by former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who today sits pretty atop the royal throne of Kano as the Emir. The company says the National Petroleum Development Company(NPDC). a subsidiary of the NNPC needs to complete the process of remitting to the federation account the outstanding sum of 1.48billion USD being an amount it earned from the sales of its assests. It also recommended the reform of operations of the NNPC,as they are no longer in tune with modern best practices.
PWC is a world class professional service company. There are only three others in its rank: KPMG, EY and Deloitte. PWC is the second largest of the lot. If PWC conducts a forensic audit and concludes that there was no ''stolen'' or ''missing'' money, that is case closed.
Let it however be noted that the President Goodluck Jonathan administration is the first presidency to probe itself. It has never happened before. This regime probed itself twice withing eighteen months and successfully proved its innocence. It went beyond the Senate,which is constitutionally empowered to carry out the probe. It brought in a world class firm to confirm it. Before now, it was either successive regimes that probed earlier ones to buy legitimacy, or they simply did nothing about alleged missing moneys. Obasanjo even probed Buhari's Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) and it was discovered that 25billion Naira was ''misappropriated''. Yet not only did Obasanjo sweep the report under carpet,he has even come forward to endorse the same Buhari for election as President.
That is the country we live in.

who are they deceiving ? After how many months they are just releasing this few weeks to the election.. i believe a lots of manipulation must have taken place. why now just because soludo has rated them low, Nigerians we hail theeee.

SMH, so sanusi as educated n religious as he is, jst woke up one day and say 20bn dollar was missing, its not possible, he would have done his research, auditing, b4 saying such in public. What do u xpect a corrupt govt to say, that itz true, the money was missin, we all know they wont admit , n definitely want to cover there tracks by bringing foreign audit firm, n submitin false records, they should have left sanusi during the process.
This present govt z a failure.
