A man in Imo State has done the unthinkable by setting his wife on fire over allegations of infidelity.
The usual peace community of at Umuahiami Afara in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, was shattered when a 45-year-old man, Uche Ubanwa, did the unthinkable by setting his wife, Ugochi, on fire after a domestic quarrel.

Reports of the ugly incident states that Ugochi was sleeping when her husband poured petrol on her and set her ablaze before handing himself to the police.

The couple were said to have been having issues and had engaged in a heated argument following a disagreement on Valentine’s Day which might not be unconnected with infidelity. 

A family source was quoted as saying:

"The woman was sleeping when the husband set her ablaze having poured fuel on her."

That action incensed the deceased kinsmen from the nearby from Ekwe autonomous community in Isu Njaba local government area, who stormed Ubanwa's Afara on revenge mission.

The angry youths destroyed property and houses which are reported to be worth millions of naira and it took the intervention of the police to quell the violence that ensued.

The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect was in the police custody, while investigation is currently ongoing.

if a man is no longer man enough for you, peacefully move out of his house and file for divorce from wherever you are, cos some men will do the unthinkable when they hear you are even thinking of divorce or cheating on them.

anyway this madness is not gender based cos both genders have records of such heinous crimes
