When they say the media in Nigeria is part of the problem in terms of the terribly negative orientation of the citizens of our beloved country I am among those that believe it. They seem to scout for all those news that put us in bad light and hardly catch those that uplift the citizenry. The mostly impressionable (sadly gullible) teeming youth of our country have been fed with something akin to bad milk. This is really evident in the fight against insurgency. Save for inquisitiveness, many of us will not know that the army is really putting in work (call it overtime) in the face of this insurgency. This is a response by a security eye to the question if Baga has now been rescued from Boko Haram.

And you wonder why our mainstream media seem to 'miss' this very encouraging part and blare ones like the Nigeriens calling Nigerian soldiers cowards and people feasting on it and even calling our soldiers cowards. too. So pathetic.

The problem is that it is not funny or joyous news to some to hear that a Major General Adeosun is heading federal forces and routing BH. If it was a Lt Colonel Obasanjo shot in the backside whist retreating, I assure you they'd be over it like white on rice.

Basically then, the idea is that news is attractive only when it allows some people show that they ought to still be living on trees and in caves and eating raw lizard meat with water in human skulls. Sadly, its NOT just one side that's guilty of such - everyone seems to hate every other person

Some of us will never think straight enough to see that not everything is abouy politics. Sai Buhari or Clueless Jonathan. Sometimes it is just plain important and matters on it's own merit. Politicians have damaged the sanity of many Nigerians.
