LAGOS—Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos, yesterday, took a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of being the cause of the injustices he was accusing the present administration.

This is just as he has described as false, reports in the social media that he had endorsed the All Progressives Congress,’APC, presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Akiolu, who was one of the special guests at the commissioning of four Nigerian Navy Ships by President Goodluck Johnathan, told journalists while leaving the venue of the occasion at Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, that Obasanjo allegedly inflicted pains on Lagos State while he was President.

He said: “ God gives many people long lives so that they can get enough punishment, like what is happening now. All the injustices they did against Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, God is exposing them. All the accusations the former President, Obasanjo is giving now, he initiated and nurtured it. He masterminded it and now he is complaining. God has a way of doing things. More are still coming to him,” he said.
On his alleged endorsement of Buhari as president, he said: “Who gave you that rumour? Who said so? Some of the things they are writing, for instance, like that former Minister Obanikoro, I went to his aged mother that they should warn him seriously. For the Presidency, I support the best person.
“If I want to do something, I do not pretend, God almighty Allah will give the Presidency to the people Nigerians want to do the best for this country”, he stated.

He was, however, quick to state: “I have picked Akinwunmi Ambode as the next governor of Lagos State . I have my reason for saying it and I do not hide it. I acted on God’s wisdom and picked him and by the grace of God, he will be the governor of this state.”

On the postponement of the election date by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, he said: “The Head of State and INEC have told us that the elections will take place March 28 and April 11 and I hope by the grace of God, it will be like that. For the time being, the intent and purposes for the postponement is acceptable.”

Followers of Nigeria politics will never forget the deeds of Olusegun Obasanjo when he was the President. We all know how he made himself above the Supreme Court by acting against the order of the court with respect to the Lagos State Fund. The PDP under Obasanjo had no internal democracy, it was dispotic, and the President was an emperor.Chief Solomon Lar, Barnabas Germade, Audu Ogbeh and Ahmadu Ali all served as PDP Chairmen under Obj regime. Obj ensured that he took them out of office by force with exception of Ali. Obj was the first and only President to announce the SACK of his VP because he defected to AC in 2007, the SC upturned it. Obj by itself upturned Governorship Primaries of his party in states... Ararume of Imo and Amaechi of Rivers are case studies. Obj openly threatened Olusegun Mimiko that he either dropped his 2007 Governorship bid or he will send EFCC after him. Under Obj nepotism reigned supreme, his wish was everyone's command whether by will or by force. Obj used 5 members of Plateau state House to impeach a governor
Anyone going back to this Obj for navigation and direction needs to tell us what has changed between the Obj of 1999-2007 and Obj of today. Nigerians are wise, Obj can never become an overnight Apostle of Change.

With or without Akiolu's endorsement, Buhari will win and it's going to be a landslide winning.

Aren't you contradicting yourself by saying OBJ made himself above the any Supreme court judgement, yet you turned and said he obeyed the Supreme court judgement in regards of the governship cases it settled?
I now believe that you are like FFK who dances to the highest bidder!

You see yourself, that isn't contradictory in anyway. There was a December 5, 2005 Supreme court Judgement that Obasanjo should release the Allocation of Lagos State Local Governments that he has held since 2004. Obj never implemented it till he left power.

Obj used 5 members of Plateau state House to impeach a governor

Like we are not seeing this under GEJ undecided

Allow me quote vanguard here:

”Under President Jonathan’s watch and with his tacit support, a few lawmakers dictated to majority of the members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, which was locked for a long time. Under President Jonathan’s watch, the Nigerian Governors’ Forum was sabotaged by his minions who declared a Governor with 16 votes a winner over the one who scored 19 votes, in a injurious blow to the concept of democracy.
"And under his watch, five lawmakers – out of 32 – have become the majority and, simply because they have the backing of the presidency, are now being given police protection to disrupt the proceedings of the House.

APC tried to force Pa Buhari on Oba Akiolu, but despite that the Oba is very close to Tinubu he still refused to endorse the General because he has seen what internet paid APC warriors refuse to see.

Buhari is part of Nigeria problems not part of the solution, hoping for him to solve the challenges Nigeria is facing is like expecting an arsonist to be a firefighter.

You see when you shout change, you are expected to bring something different from the norm but it seems the reverse is the case in your own case. As far as I can recall, Obj has not been given any chance to participate in the government, that his exParty men flocks to him as a former President and leader does not make him a changed man.

As for GEJ, I cannot support executive rascality, but I have never seen where a Governor is embarrassed out of Office by less than 2/3 of State Parliamentarians. This is a FACT!
The case of NGF is an irrational one. The Nigeria Governors' Forum is like a Market Women Association, it is not recognized by the constitution and the parliament. So whatever goes on there is their business and not that of Nigerians. No one has arrested Amaechi for holding his NGF meeting neither has anyone arrested Jang. Mimiko can wake up tomorrow and form his own.
The cases of Ekiti and Ogun(2010-2011) are condemnable, however, there is the court to go settle issue and get illegality upturned. I also condemned in strong terms the assault on judges.

During Obasanjo era, less than the required number impeached Obi of Anambra State, the court upturned it. Yet it took the appeal court to rule before Obi was reinstated.
5 Members impeached Governor Dariye, the Court Upturned it.
18 out of 32 members impeached Ladoja, they sat in a hotel, the court upturned it.
Atiku Abubakar was "sacked" by Obasanjo, the court upturned it.
INEC under Obj arrogated powers to themselves to disqualify Atiku, the Court Upturned it.
Obi, Mimiko, Oshiomole, Aregbesola and Fayemi were denied their mandate under OBJ, the Court upturned it.
Need we go on?

We all know the reason why he withheld the funds in the first place.
But note: Out of the about N33bn that was withheld by his administration, OBJ released a total of about N21bn before expiration of his tenure. The remaining, a balance of about N10bn was released immediately the Late Year'Adua's government was sworn-in!

What I choose believe shouldn't be termed "insult" by you! I still stand on what I believe!

Sometimes we need to be honest with ourselves. What is morally and legally justified in seizing N10 billion belonging to Lagos State because you wanted them to scrap the 37 LCDAs even after a supreme court judgement? What is legal and moral to withhold these funds for 3 Year and 2years after judgement has been passed? Maybe you are unaware, the actual fight was a personal one between Obj and Tinubu over control of SW. Obj took it brutal... Please read the link! Thanks and I am done with this.

And y are the PDPians Happy, has Akiolu endorsed Jonathan. I know that's the last thing he would do. He verbally made Jona look stupid when he came for pres. Rally in Lagos. Oba said 'the people of Lagos are not stupid or blind to see the progress of the governor of lagos state and Apc. And though he won't blame Gej much for his woes but Gej would definitely share from the hatred OBJ has for lagos'..

The Oba has never hidden the fact that he is not in agreement with the Buhari candidacy.

On Akinwumi, he is wrong cos Agbaje is the man for the job.

On reading this news, Obj would blurt out;

"Police men whether retired or not are ole! All of them!! That is why I dealt with Tafa. Oloribruku"

These old men will never change. Imagine going to warn Obanikoro's mum about her son. grin grin. When finally the old woman calls her son on phone to tell him.

Mama Koro: Oba of Lagos came to warn me about your utterances and actions targeted against his person...

Koro: who... Lagos has no Oba. Forget that impostor there. I shall remove him after the elections. I don't want to waste my time on him now because I am carrying out a special assignment, that only me is capable of, for the Government. By the way mama, I hope you are taking your drugs...

Mama Koro: I am just scared that..

Koro Aah... Mama! How can you fear a small local chief when your son is a big government chief? Don't worry. I shall deal with him soon. If the agbaya comes to disturb you again, I shall have him arrested and detained in Abuja by my soldiers.

I am tempted to disagree with you on internal democracy during OBJ and GEJ. GEJ handed over states to some people without Primaries taking place at all. Under GEJ the very popular Garba Umar was asked to withdraw because GEJ has handed over the state to TY. Danjuma. Intact GEJ time was the first that the Primaries of two states TARABA AND ADAMAWA were held at Abuja and in Wadata plaza for all elective offices in those states. It was under GEJ that all governorship aspirant apart from the man Friday left the party in Akwa Ibom 22 I think. In cross rivers and benue a sitting senator decamped. The Rivers story is well known.
GEJ did more disservice to his party by the absence of internal democracy than OBJ.
If he losses the election 19% of the reason will be because of failure to allow internal democracy and allow candidates to even contest primaries. He is the first PDP presidential candidate to contest the primaries alone and before the primaries you hear stories like only one form was produce for an election like the presidential elections.

May God bless this man for this.
Obj is a senile bittered old fool.
All the suffering Nigeria is going through now was initiated and nurtured by him.
He even forced Jônadaft on us.
That old fool needs to go back to the prison.
- Crumbled our economy
- Dollars was about 70 Naira as at 1999 when he became president before Crumbled it to about 140 before he left
- Fuel was N20 but he wickedly inflated it to N75 before he left. Omg! He even increased it from N65 to N75 three days before he left. He and IBB are the most wicked old fool leaders to ever ruled Nigeria.
He even wanted a 3rd term in office.
I AM 100% SURE THAT ONE OF THEM HAS HIS HAND IN BOKOHARAM.
OBJ SOLD:
- Bakassi Peninsula
- Nitel
- Our first and second satellite he purchased
Awarded many oil blocks to his friends, family and mistresses.
Stole 16 BILLION DOLLARS on power project.
May God of justice still bless him with more years to suffer in life- Him and all other persons taking us backward in this country.
ANYONE WHO MEANS WELL FOR THIS COUNTRY WILL NOT RE-ELLECT J0NATHAN.
BUHARI IS NOT THE BEST CANDIDATE BUT ONLY A BETTER OPTION TO J0NATHAN.
WHAT WE REALLY NEED IS REVOLUTION.
Revolution to wipe out all this old fools which includes
OBJ
IBB
TINUBU
E.T.C
My good people of Nigeria , please vote your conscience. Don't be
manipulated. If your pastor says don't vote for a
Muslim, ask him if Daniel served a saint; whether
Modeccai did not serve King Ahaseurus and if Joseph
was not a prime Minister under Pharaoh. This election
is not about North versus South, nor is it Christian
versus Muslim. It is about Nigeria and good
governance. Don't allow politicians divide us. When
they share money, they don't talk about religion. When
they want donations from Aliko Dangote, they don't
remember he is a Muslim. When they enter an aircraft,
they don't ask the religious faith of the pilot. When
their bosses are atheists, they don't resign from the
job. When an Alhaji gives them contracts, they don't
reject it. They and their wives go to Dubai to spend
money. Dubai is in United Arab Emirate but they have
no problems buying houses in Dubai. But when it
comes to politics back home, they say they want to
ISLAMISE or CHRISTIANIZE you. Yet, some of these
people were spiritual consultants to Abacha. Vote your
conscience. If you want to vote for Jonathan, vote for
him based on your conviction that he has performed in
your estimation and not because he is a "Christian". If
you want to vote for Buhari, vote for him because you
feel disenchanted with Jonathan government, not
because he is a Muslim.
Say NO to bigotry.
Please think before you vote and not vote before think.
God bless Nigeria.
