My dear you've raised a point.
If he becomes EFCC chairman, he can still fight corruption very well but we nigeria should think smart and vote wisely.

I believe it wasn't this year they started the project so why question the commissioning few days to the election?

The true story.

1. We had to put phase 1 on base load when he came around.
2. Ask whether the vibration problem of ST1 has been resolved. If it wasn't resolved before he came, then I doubt if it will ever be. And if it isn't resolved, 225MW iڪ automatically shut out

I can't really praise GEJ now for this until there is uninterrupted power supply for at least a month in my area, most especially during the dry season. OBJ too did egbin power plant and some other ones then but still the story remains the same.

Otuoke awaits u. Time to leave the post for other competent people.

Thank u for 6yrs of siphoning, stealing and huge corruption.

Whenever anyone does something good, people should learn to appreciate the good work. That way, you probably encourage your pathetic self.

Jonathan is not working yet we see giant projects being commissioned all over the country! People should for once be fair in judgement, if those that want to tke over power now had done these projects in 1983-1985 will we still be in this level? Off course they were more concerned about canceling Jakande' rail project than pushing for people friendly projects.

Please those old enough to remember the 80s should tell us if we had uninterrupted power supply then and what they did to correct this life long national disgrace.

And how many years did it take the FG or PDP to commission these projects? Commissioning 750mw is like commisioning a Microgrid. We need 30,000 mw to start anything meaningful. get it right GEJ coz this power plant does not call for immoral celebration.

I have some questions to ask. Why GEJ is just doing all what is doing now? Does that mean that nigerians must talk before he work? He is wait for nigerians to call him names before he can perform? Fighting BH after lot of lifes has been lost, commissining power plant in few days to election. I dont understand o
Let me give you an assignment you need. Find out how long it takes to build a 750MW power plant.

He came to ogun state to commission a project without the presence of the state governor, wat a shame to the former president come may 29
EmmaAjayi:
Amosu is supposed to be here no matter what.
Because it is a political gimmick. The power plant has been there for years, built i think during obasanjo administration nipp. They had a problem with gas which i think they have now fixed, that is what the president came for. They are telling half truths and playing people to think this administration built the place. Olorunsogo plant is close to papalantoro in ogun state. I am currently close to the place for a weekend program, there is no light as i type. Since morning.

You are so right, their level of propaganda is alarming... I feel they are sowing seed of discord to render the elections unfree and unfair even before results are announced. They are in for a shock!

We had uninterrupted power supply in the late 70s and early 80s. Maintenance of power infrastructure was usually done on Saturday mornings but you'll be preinformed via local radio at least a week before the scheduled disruption.

All the military regimes paid no attention to amenities. So that's when the problem started.

Note: I lived in Enugu then so I can't speak for other parts of the country.
Bro we didn't even have the entire country covered electrically by then and we all can still remember a NEPA newspaper cut of 1969 with the caption " there will be 24hrs energy supply the next year"... My parents never enjoyed uninterrupted energy supply, makes it difficult to agree that Enugu had such high supply while the rest of the country had epileptic supply. My point is Buhari did not do these things 30yrs ago when he was younger, don't know the manner of magic he can perform in his 70s

Bros, unless you lived on a university campus with a back up generator that starts up immediately NEPA starts its load shedding exercises, there is no way you would have had uninterrupted power supply in the late 70s and 80s.

Nothing like uninterrupted power supply existed in those days in Lagos. I know this because I recall my dad buying petrol for his small generator even in those days, in Lagos........ especially in the Ikoyi area where we lived. So please do not peddle falsehood. Ask those who were old enough to remember what happened during that period.

Sorry, but I don't have time to bother myself to convince you. We lived at Riverside Housing Estate in Enugu and that was the situation then. Like I stated earlier, there were radio announcements on ABS1 before light is taken.

As for age, check my other posts. I left banking as a Branch Manager years back and am currently a big employer of labour. I guess am old enough to know what I wrote earlier.

One advise: Don't think everyone on Nairaland are children. Thanks.

Very funny. This is a public forum. You made a statement & it attracted a response from me.

Now you are claiming that you left banking years back as a bank manager. Who asked you?? shocked

The topic was about power. For you to claim that power supply was steady in the 70s and 80s, is hogwash. It definitely was not steady in many parts of Lagos & Enugu, so please do NOT use your own small area in Enugu as a yardstick to declare that power supply was constant during that period!

bank manager indeed! mtcheeew.... sad
