go ask you brothers why did they first attacked the holy land before the pope called for crusades to liberate the land from the hands of Muslims. Even the Wikipedia that you quoted confirmed it. the catholic jihad you are talking about is more of a self defence. Assuming it didn't take place, the whole of Europe would just be like the middle east with no Christians. Do you knw that there were time when Spain, Portugal, France etc were conquered by Muslims and Islam became the official religion. Its the crusade that help restore Christianity back. Countries like Egypt, turkey were seats of Christians state but the crusaders couldn't won it back. One of the biggest mosque in turkey was once a church. Even till date you can still see Christians drawing in the mosque. Without those crusades, it will take a miracle for me and you to still be a Christian or rayher, practice our faith fully without fear of being killed.

You are right and wrong.

About the crusade, it started because the Christians could not take it any longer, they had to stop the Jihadists who were conquering everywhere. They took so many nations, they were at the French border but were forcefully sent back to Andulasia and later chased out of Andulasia and some other nations they'd forcefully taken. My point is, if there was no Jihad, we would not have had Crusade.
