Bh has only grown to become not only a problem to Nigeria but to other countries as a result of the incompetence of the government to curb the menace the group has been perpetrating.
Britain failed to defeat IRA terrorists for 25 years, does that mean that the british army is incompetent?.
It has more to do with ideology than government competence.Boko haram grew due to the malicious intent of both local and foreign elements who sponsored the sect due to different reasons.

Honestly you guys should stay off topics you know nothing about.

Cameroon had always been Boko haram's safe haven.

Anytime the NA gives them fire, they retreat to Cameroon and of course, Cameroon opens its borders to them. They thought it was a Nigerian problem.

Are you aware that a sizeable number of Boko haram fighters are from Cameroon?

Very soon, you will blame ISIS takeover of Iraq on GEJ. I tire for these APC people o.
How convenient for you that Boko Haram is now a Cameroonian problem. I fear your lies. Just to defend the failures of Jonathan, you are re-writing what is happening right in front of us.

Let me repeat, when Boko Haram rose its ugly head, if Jonathan had fixed it in that last 5yrs, the over 15,000 innocent Nigerians that have died will be alive. And Cameroon will not have to loose any village as well.

FYI, it took 19 days to even accept that the ChibokGirls were abducted. Today Jonathan wants to be praised for offering to build the school.

Competence is far more than wearing military costume.

That Boko haram was able to over run a Cameroonian village is now GEJ's fault?

I guess GEJ now controls Cameroonian military.

Two years ago, when Jonathan was dealing effectively with the Boko Haram terrorists what did your old pensioner say along with Borno elders huh

Sign agreement on no more killings, I will withdraw JTF, Jonathan to Borno elders
March 09, 2013

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan yesterday in Maiduguri, accused Borno State Elders of playing to the gallary over the activities of Boko Haram Islamic sect insurgency in the state, describing the situation as unfortunate.

Jonathan spoke during an interactive session with Borno State stakeholders at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Government House Maiduguri, in continuation of his two- day working visit to Borno and Yobe States, the epicentres of Boko Haram.

He was responding to requests by the Elders for the Federal Government to grant amnesty to the sect members as well as withdraw the military Joint Task Force, JTF from Maiduguri and other areas in the state during the second day of his working visit to Borno State..

President Jonathan lamented that none of the elders in the state had publicly condemned the killings and bombings being carried out by the sect members and advised them to put their ‘’house in order,’’ by talking to their children who had been causing havoc in the country to drop their arms against the country.

Buhari faults crackdown on Boko Haram
JUNE 3, 2013

Presidential candidate for the Congress for Progressive Change in the 2011 Presidential election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has frowned on the emergency rule in parts of the North. He alleged that innocent civilians were being killed in the states.

Buhari speaking during a Liberty FM Hausa Service Programme, Guest of the Week, on Sunday in Kaduna said that Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished unlike the “special treatment” given to the Niger Delta militants by the Federal Government.

Honestly all limitations be removed on the BH war. The front keeps changing. Chad requested permission to push forward again we rejected. The Naija Army is saying the Chibok hostages are preventing them from a final onslaught on SHekau.I say screw all pride, politics and excuses, push on from all fronts and give them hell. The enemy of your enemy is your friend. If Chad,Niger or Cameroon can finish of the suckers pls and pls give them the go ahead. We will sort our differences later. A tree does not make a forest. This people most not be allowed to regroup or reorganize in any of the areas in Nigeria or bordering Nations.
How come is it that we are yet to assist our neighbors on there own territory. After all they seem to have helped us a great deal. We should reciprocate same gesture if given the green light. Match in to all BH enclave and liberate regardless of the country in question.

SCREW BOKO HARAM and the terrorist in Syria/Iraq !!!!!

the IRA and the British was the equivalence of Nigeria-Biafra, where the IRA wanted Northern Ireland to be cut off from Britain, more like a war though both the British and the Republic of Ireland saw it as an unlawful organisation. But in the case of BH we(i.e the government) saw it growing, still the government never took any drastic measure to paralyse them and here we have the outcome.

What is the difference between IRA and BH?,they both wanted to break away and form independent states, albeit boko haram is more expansionist.
The Nigerian government tackled BH since the beginning, but due to ethnic, tribal and religious interference, coupled with lack of local cooperation,BH grew and festered. Some individuals sponsored the sect, while the local populace cheered them on as if BH was some sort of freedom fighting group. But when it became apparent that BH was a habringer of iminent doom, everyone started blaming the government.Who do you think is at fault?

If he had tackled Boko Haram will there be one to take over a village in Cameroon? As it stands now, Nigerians, Africans and indeed the world are hoping that Nigerians will elect a Leader who is competent enough to fix this mess and stop it from plaguing the world. The World has its hands full, no need adding another from Nigeria.

Things Must Change.
everything is not about politics... these soldiers have been fighting a war, please bear with them and dont bring pdp and apc into the mix

the government is at fault, imagine trying to negotiate with a terrorist group far back as last year that alone showed how weak the government was ready to tackle the menace.

The government was under pressure from both the opposition and the international community, infact, the opposition practically rallied nigerians to coarse the government into agreeing to a cease fire deal.

and then what happened to the cease fire deal? The government was still bold enough to say it has argreed a cease fire deal with the terrorists but that was soon dis-carded as attacks persisted.

The cease fire was a ruse set up by boko haram and its allies in order to give them time to recoup and restrategize after the major defeat they suffered in konduga.BH picked chad as a neutral ground and chief negotiator, but in the end, both chad and boko haram renaged on the deal and the fighting commenced with more force.
tell me,what do you think would have happened if the FG had rejected the cease fire and pressed on with a devastating onslaught?,of course, everyone would have cried foul, accusing the government of insincerity in tackling the insurgency and even systematic genocide. The ICC would have charged our government for war crimes, the west could have even sanctioned us.
I want you to understand that it was lack of cooperation that strengthened boko haram.
