I cursed Obasanjo because of that road. I cursed Yaradua because of the same road and I most certainly would've cursed Jonathan if he didn't do anything about it. Thank God he has done what others before him refused to do... And for that, he will mst definitely get my vote.

I am from Abia State, though based in Lagos.
I registerd at home and intend to vote come march ending. I have bn using this express rd . Not impress that this govt shld wait untill the election period b4 deeming it fit to work on this road. Both Enugu, okigwe,Umuahia & the Rivers/Abia boundary sections are terrible.
I am not a politician, but frankly I am NOT impressed.

Five years as President it is now that election is near that different infrastructural works have "commenced". What about Port Harcourt airport that has been in perpetual construction because the presidency is having childish fights with the state government, have they "commenced" on the arrival hall or are people from international and domestic flights still "arriving" in the make-shift tents that have been there now for the past few years? Only the blind who can't read precedences would be carried away by these last minute election "show I am working" projects.

What u seriously dont know is that, two years of buhari military rule is more five years of GEJ civil rule. this because buhari did not wait for body or right in his bedroom decrees are made and they become law. so also project to be done do not wait approval from anybody before carrying them out and many more instances.
But in the case of GEJ civil rule bills are send to the house for debate that passes through so many reading before it finally passed in law by the president. for instance, the freedom of information bill took more than two years before it was passed into law by the president. before a project is awarded or an issue is brought the FEC meeting, it will be deliberated upon by all ministers for various interest to be considered by it finally awarded to a contractor. this and many more instance should to pple that buhari has more free hand to change in his first reign but he could not lack of experience and incompetence.
Two year military rule is far more than enough to develop and change nigeria than 5 year civil rule that does not give free hand to make decision.

Oh boy, keep telling yourself stories and use whatever excuse you want to use. Jonathan is corrupt, encourages corruption, and is incompetent. Everybody around the world can see that except some blind Nigerians. Nigerian politicians don't even have to try anymore because they have an army of complicit citizens waiting to make excuses for their poor performance. I hope Nigerians are wiser, and if they are not and are stupid enough to vote for a president who has just recently woken up to his duties because election is round the corner, then that is their business and those same Nigerians would be the ones to live with the consequences. Just save the rest of the world the "righteous anger" if by any chance that unfortunate incident happens and you have to endure another four years of no light, high unemployment, corruption and impunity, etc, because by that time the rest of the world wouldn't care and no one can blame them.

You see how messed up Nigeria is now? That is a Jonathan record, I don't understand how people who are able to think can't see this. There is no need to imagine what another four years of Jonathan would be like if you are living in it. And 25000km of road someone said was constructed? Do you know what 25000km is? Is this going to be like the "Jonathan has constructed 13 federal universities" lie that could not be backed up by pictures? Keep lying to yourselves.

Massive reconstruction work is right now going at Enugu - Port Harcourt express road, look at the pictures and judge for yourself if the quality is okay. I saw both Setraco crew and Arab contractors on duty in different portions of the road. More pictures here...

LOL. Did you hear that APGA is threatening fire and brimstone because GEJ is not campaigning in the SE like he did in the SW recently? I laughed out loud on the naivety of Igbo people. Igbo people pledged unalloyed and "unconditional" support for GEJ. Thus they are inconsequential. They intend to give out their votes for free in Nigeria. The Yoruba people held off until GEJ went down with bags of dollars to beg for their support. Will they vote for GEJ? No one can guarantee that but at least they got something out of it. Now Igbo people in the SE are salivating for dollars. It ain't gonna happen. It is like a woman who gives it out for free demanding respect.
By the way, igbo people will never smell the presidency in the next one hundred years because they are political infants. Power is never handed out for free. They are expecting a situation where all the other tribes will come together and hand it out to them because it is the turn of Igbo people. Dream on!
And what's with igbo people berating their fellow Igbo people for joining any political party of their choice? SMH. The lot of ever-gullible Igbo people remains same in Nigeria no matter the political affiliation. The fact remains that every tribe in Nigeria loves money equally as the Igbo people, the only difference is that others know when and how to use such pecuniary love as bargaining chips. But Igbo people are willing to settle for peanuts or worse, unfulfillable promises like the ones made to a prostitute during the deed.

There are more than ten political parties in Nigeria. So how does lack of support for GEJ automatically equate to love for GMB? Igbo people are phony politically.

Funny story. I plied this route recently and some very bad portions like Osisioma has be rehabilitated. However the OP is quite deceitful as the work on that road is quite slow. As at January 1km was tarred on one lane between Ubakala and Abia tower. There is a beautiful well finished short portion between Okigwe and Enugu. The reality is that the job done so far is around 3% and I do not see it being completed any time soon at this pace. The road remains a death trap.

Go check the pictures that have been circulating about the Enugu Port Harcourt Road and tell me what you see. More so, someone pointed out that the road on the picture is that of Yaounde Doala Road.

That picture is just an architectural model of a road. It doesn't exist anywhere in the world, except in the mind of the person that created it. It was used by Reuben Abati to model the ongoing constructions in Enugu-Port Harcourt road the same way it was used by the Chinese Company in charge of the Camerounian project to model their road. According to the head engineer, as at November, 2014, the road construction hasn't even begun and would take about 60 months to complete. So, it isn't possible that this road could be the Camerounian road you speak of.
