I knew at the time that no good thing would ever come out of that fraudulent power privatization. C1 is now 24 naira per unit plus 500 naira fixed charge, yet no regular electricity supply. Exploitation of Nigerian masses from all quarters is now the order of the day.

gej really defr..auded nigerians with his so-called privatisation of phcn. things are now much worse than before. outrageous bills, extremely expensive meters, very erratic power supply, poorly maintained equipment.....nothing just works, yet those electricity discos are raking in billions in daily revenue. am I surprised? after all gej sold the phcn to himself and his friends.
You missed one thing: over 90% of their workforce were laid off. They are now making use of free labour to assist the few permanent workers.

We don suffer for this country. These electricity distribution companies are scamming us big time.

They take a senseless fixed charge from millions of customers which translates into billions every month. Steady billions even before their normal charges.

And despite these free billions they rake in every month, they have refused to install pre-paid metres for a good majority of their customers.

Especially those living in areas that are not high brow. These people are milking the average Nigerian dry and the light made available is still a pathetic one.

Sincerely Nigeria, we need to open up the petroleum and the electricity distribution industries to serious scrutiny. Massive corruption that has crippled this country is going on in these two sectors.

The one of electricity is even worse because they are even still extorting the little the masses depend on without even providing the power.

It is no propaganda to say the economy has been badly managed under GEJ. It is a fact!

All the regulatory agencies meant to protect the interest of the public like the NERC (electricity), DPR (petroleum), EFCC & ICPC (financial and fraud), SON (standards), CBN (banks and economy), NBC (media, multichoice just dey misbahve as they like, and nothing dey happen), NCC (telecoms- these ones are a bunch of arrogant thieves), FMEnv (Environment) among other regulatory agencies have not been visible at all and are not performing optimally!

And the resultant effect is that the Nigerian people are subjected to all forms of fraudulent practises.

Soludo hit the nail on the head, when he asserted that the economy has been handed over to the people govt is supposed to actively regulate in order to protect the Nigerian people cum consumers.

I just hope they won't come and blame other people again for this their weak oversight.

#Never again will such a weak govt lead this country.

stop complaining , he used that to compensate people who campaigned for him, most people who pay will never even get the meter, and we have ICPC, Nigeria is still a big joke.. People who paid for meter never get them before nepa staff prefer manual billing that give room for corruption

Olatunde Ayeni is the Vice Chairman of Integrated Energy Distribution and Marketing Limited. The company purchased the electricity distribution companies in Ibadan and Yola. Olatunde Ayeni is also led the consortium, NATCOM Communications, which emerged the sole bidder for the national carriers, Nigerian Telecommunications Limited, NITEL and Mtel.

Olatunde Ayeni donated 3 billion naira out of the 21 billion naira raised for the Gridlock Jonascam campaign fund. Now tell me how Gridlock Jonascam will be able to call this man to order if he decides to sell electric meters for 1 million naira each.

The annoying part is, where is the effin' electricity?!

I know many people who would gladly pay the 60, and even pay 20K monthly in bills, if there is uninterrupted power supply . . . hell, an average 'lower-middle-class-family' spends that much or more, on unstable power supply bills+Gen maintenance+fuel already. . . while dying slowly of pollution.

still GEJ till APC is 6feet under....

it will only get more expensive with APC. its not that they going to provide free electricity.

i wont be surprised if they give it to tinubu and he puts a toll fee on the service apart from the charges already existing for the next century....
