Can you explain to me what determines the size of aluminium used for windows or doors? I see some aluminium windows frames are bigger than some of the ones we normally see in homes in Nigeria. I am based in the U.S and our aluminium look a lot thicker and bigger in frames than the ones I see on nairaland all the time.

I also need to know why is it not common to see some aluminium that looks like stainless steel used in Nigeria? Like the ones you posted above look like plastic like aluminium.

What determine the size of Aluminum profiles is the type of design or the type of opening you want for doors or windows.....

.type of opening...... slidding.......swings...... projected.

every country have their own type of Aluminum material sizes and prefered thickness Which fit into their structural specification and standard regulation.......ghana and nigeria have differnt type of Aluminum profiles type and thickness,

the picture I posted of Aluminum is not plastic made, but stainles or Aluminum material, its the colours of the profiles that makes it look Like plastic..

some nigeria home owner do use the type of Aluminum profiles u.s.a use, by contracting to company. but the cost is tripple or more costlier than the regular ones we use here..

Are these types of aluminium frame displayed below available in markets? I have not seen any displayed in property section before. As you can see, they are different from the one we normally see here.

I have not come across that in my local market here...

they may be in nig mkt , and use by few company,

the big guys that deals or are into industrial and power coating profiles of Aluminum are not promoting their works here on Nairaland......
