I get where you're coming from, especially after his ultra conservative tactics flopped during the week - with Zouma. He should have kept his mouth shut, and focus on this game, without the loose talks. And I also agree with you that he needs to ease some of the youngsters into the first team. However, that's his personality, and it comes with the territory. Love him, or loathe him - he has overachieved within a short span - with a culture and system he personally created. Evidently, he has a right to talk the way he does. Unlike a Guardiola who was gifted a system/structure to operate in. And he's in the Mount Rushmore of the greatest football coaches ever.

Furthermore, most of the greats/geniuses who excelled exceedingly in sports were/are also like that. It comes with having a chip on ya shoulder. Being able to talk big and back it up. Michael Jordan was like that - and he hasn't even changed, long after he retired - his hall of fame speech a few years ago adds credence to that. Muhammed Ali was like that. Floyd Mayweather is the same. When Tiger Woods was blowing people away in golf, he was like that. Kobe Bryant used to run around like that, hence nobody wanted to play with him. When Roger Federer was smacking everyone during a weak tennis era, he was like that. Ditto Serena Williams before the new PR campaign. Etc. Once you can back-up the big talks, no one can question what you have to say apart from haters.

I think most of us Chelsea fans don't really understand the greatness Mourinho brought to the club. Especially the structure/system, winning culture, and mentality. Even after he left - Avram Grant, Ancelloti, and Di Matteo left the struture/system intact, with the nucleus of Mourinho's players (the ones he influenced into greatness) - albeit with tweaks on the peripheral. Hence they were able achieve something. We all saw what happened to Scolari when he tried to create his own. Mourinho is Chelsea and Chelsea is Mourinho - and we just need to respect the guy despite his imperfections and overbearing attitude sometimes. The same media folks trying to critique him now were the ones begging him to return to the EPL when he was away. Big Mou is the greatest, even if he never wins anything again. We Chelsea lifers adore him - you need to hit CIF to see how old Chelsea fans in their 50s, 60s, and 70s worship him. And these are folks who have supported Chelsea for decades with loads of stories to tell - with permanent seats at Stanford Bridge lol. Some of them are expats now, but every time they're in the country, it's always a ritual to visit the stadium.
