/ People have power but do not know how to use it. The same people blame GEJ for being the C-i-C and not knowing how to exercise that power. The power of votes in a democracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEJ should be voted out! And as you do...GET YOUR PVC ready to vote out GMB if he falls into the same trap of incompetency. Keep voting them out until we get someone who is patriotic and God-fearing enough to put our collective interest as a nation over their personal ambition. This is 2015. Enough is Enough. Forward ever, backward never. If GEJ wins, that means that people have shown that their existence in this world is in vain and should be taken for granted by their oppressors. Remember all those days of strikes, picketing, protests, etc. This is your chance to show your grievance. When they oppress, they show no emotions; when you vote, show no emotions. Be selfish in your desire for things to be better in your lives. The fear of voters should be the beginning of wisdom. It should not end with GEJ and GMB. Keep your governors on their feet as well. Your lives in 4 years should be worth more than a bag of rice. \ |

The only thing that's constant in this life is CHANGE...same people that refuse to commit crime or steal during GMB regime because they know the repercussion might become arm robber under GEJ tenure due to he support and pardon corrupt practices..how is that GMB fault that people change after his regime. ...this post is dumb and sentimental. |

GEJ is not as corrupt as he is so accused. I know that APC will go any length to disgrace GEJ but I have not heard them accusing GEJ evidently of embezzlement of funds or owning companies here and/or in abroad. If up till now no such accusations then GEJ is more sincere than all the APC put together. Nigerians are wiser Vote GEJ on march 28 |

How else can corruption can be defined than the hypocricy of APC? You have nailed the point in completely. The only way that have been able to corner alot of supporters is through sheer propaganda and escallating problems without them been able to convince objective minds on how they'd tackle the problems of which critical observation present President Goodluck as a better candidate than Buhari in this regard. I blame myself for listening to their noises instead of aligning myself with the FG's programmes. Wahala90: |

xrisdon:Great writeup. Most Nigerians don't even know what it means to fight corruption. All they want is brute force where people are thrown in jail or shot by firing squard. They careless about preventive measures. The best way to minimize corruption (Corruption can never be eradicated) is by blocking loopholes and avenues to corruption. And the best way to do that, as you rightly pointed out is by building institutions. Institutions with internal mechanism that is self sustaining and efficient to deal with corruption no matter who is in power. That's what is obtainable in civilized societies. This is an indictment on OBJ because he never fought corruption. All he did was to intimidate political enemies through EFCC. Those people who are in the habit of accusing GEJ of not fighting corruption conveniently forgot that humans in general possess the affinity to commit crimes. For instance, the penalty for hawking drugs in some countries is dead sentence. Yet people still hawk drugs. Why? Because man has the penchant attitude to commit crimes. So is dead penalty the best way to deal with drug trafficking? Definitely not. So what's the best way to fight drug peddlers? Destroying drug farmlands. That's why some of these countries with high drug related crimes are destroying farmlands where drugs plants are planted and produced to minimize the rate of drug trafficking in the streets. So is it with corruption. The best way to tackle a problem is from the root. This is what GEJ is currently doing through FOI, free press and information technology (ICT). |

As much as I am concern, under gej we r really enjoying democracy. Let me tell who cares to listen that worst things than this were happening but we didn't know but thanks to gej who gave us freedom of information, now they steal, now we know. I can boldly put it to you that the fight against stealing and corruption has just started because those who want to steal will have the fear of being exposed and that want to engage in one corrupt act or the other will also be afraid of being exposed. Finally if you ask me I would rather there be continuation. |

gwales:Ignorance is really bad bro... and most of you aren't ashamed to display theres...Sure, corruption isn't stealing neither in English dictionary nor in our constitution...Punishment for offenders aren't same for them too according to our constitution... Finally, presidential pardon is for sinners not saints...offenders & criminals NOT good citizens...and it is granted by state council with president as chairman...buhari and other former heads of government as members alongside other APC governors and PDP governors, senate president & others......if any of them objected to the pardon; then it won't be granted... |

Ask a fish what comes to mind when he hears the name Nigeria, it will say corruption! Everyone knows that the cancer eating at the heart of this country is corruption and since the return to democracy in 1999 every politician running for the top job in the nation, has campaign on the premise of tackling corruption. Yet as we know all too well words are wind, we have seen minimal efforts, token gestures and down right indifference to actually solving this acute Nigerian sickness. So when something does actually happen and high profile arrests are made and convictions are enforced the whole nation and the greater world takes notice to see whether this is a turning point in this diseased nation. That was the case when Diepreiye Alamieyeisegha was arrested in the UK on money laundering charges in 2005 and later convicted for said crimes. However in an unprecedented move the President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan who happens to be Diepreiye Alamieyeisegha protege pardoned this convicted fraudster on grounds that he had shown sufficient remorse in 2013. This man that goes on international television to embarrass perennially saying how he inherited a corruption nation and how he is doing his utmost to curb it. In that one act of pardoning a convicted and proven thief President Jonathan has done more to undermine the fight against corruption than any other Head of State in this nation history. But yet it seems Nigerians have short memories, in any other country this one act would render any public figure ostracized and lacking in credibility. To move Nigeria forward we must stymie the flow of unaccounted monies from the coffers at state and national level before we can talk about improving infrastructure and social development, Jonathan has demonstrated his indifference and unwillingness to carry out this critical task. |

It was sigmund frued that said and I agree "People will obey the law when the consequence of breaking it outways the gain" This is where GEJ has failed woefully, the thing is curropt officials knows that there is no consequence, during GEJ administration, for curroption, hence the impunity with which curroption has permiated the entire government and the whole country!! Even the few that were caught during OBJ regime were let go with inconsequencial purnishments! With Buhari's proposer of wistle blower protection law and high handedness on curropt officials, at least people will know that long jail term await curropt officials!. In Nigeria, all that is required is to send few former governors and ministers on a long jail term of minimum of 20 years (Note that this is not unusual in advance countries) and allow the anti-curroption agencies to keep rolling on its own from there!. Trust Nigerians, we will become law abiding immidiately because that will be enough to send us clear message on the resolve of the new government. mikeansy: |
