Advice Needed On Best University To Study Mechanical Engineering by ozfred(op): 9:48am On Mar 21, 2015
I am an ND2 Mechanical engineering student of a
polytechnic in northern Nigeria and I also sat for
Jamb this year. I applied mechanical engineering,
FUTO, I scored 245.
Lately, I've been having second thoughts on the
school, I really want a to study mechanical
engineering in a good university, with nice
facilities, qualified lecturers and up to date
syllabus. Funny enough it would hurt me to
abandon the ND program because I've been doing
exceptionally well. I just wish there is a way I can
round up before I start my degree program.
So please I need your help and suggestions.
Kindly list the best universities to study
mechanical engineering in Nigeria in their
descending order. Thanks

FUTA is the best varsity to study most Engineering courses. It ranks 1st on the NSE (Nigerian Society of Engineers) list. Cheers

why are you having a second thought about FUTO? The alma mater of the current president of COREN, Engr. Ali and the university that has produced the highest number of engineers working with chevron, shell and many other MNCs in nigeria.

I wish u could back up your claims with evidence and facts. Where did u get ur data that claims oil and gas gesturing most engineers from FUTO ? undecided
Anyway, in the labour market, the school u graduated from does not matter much. Any of the federal universities in Nigeria would do for an engineering degree.

I stated a well known fact except if you are not into oil and gas business in nigeria. But atleast you can verify that of COREN president.

I am a certified Mechanical engineer in the oil and gas sector and can authoritatively tell u that most of the Engineers in this sector are not from FUTO. Previous COREN presidents did not come from FUTO either. Always back up ur claims with facts, buddy

I was specific in my claims, I stated chevron and shell, atleast using lagos and ph branches as case studies and i never said all COREN presidents were from FUTO. I don't know what you seek to establish with your attacks on my verifiable claims. cheers
