Jeffy1206: Even tho not hundred percent, I'm pretty sure Stanbic has only verve and Mastercard. Dat was all i saw in their newspaper advert. And Zenith, no idea. Personally, i want to visit a Stanbic bank today or tomorrow. They are a smaller bank compared to Zenith. in terms of popularity anyways. So i believe they have a lower chance of playing Nairabet with ur money. lol. Jeffy1206: 14 naira per 1 dollar is quite ridiculous. Diamond bank yesterday was back to 204.08 never tried paypal on it tho. |

Please people, I'm not trying to derail the thread, but I seem to be having issues with my diamond visa debit card(the green one) I've never used it for international transactions cos my GTB MasterCard has always been handy. With recent developments, I tried switching to diamond. I dusted my card, changed the i-pin, and yet, my card is still been declined by the sites that I use my GTB MasterCard on. what could be the issue? |

nenyibabs: Call Diamond Care. Be sure that there's nothing wrong with the card. Used the same card on Playstore, Aliexpress, Origin (FIFA 15), PayPal. No issues whatsoever. It was even my Ecobank MasterCard dat had issues, now u apparently have to go to their branch to apply for ur card to be activated for online purchases. Did they think dat i just wanted to use master card on ATMs? That bank is a confused bank. Also, i advice that u download the Diamond app from playstore. Click register and use ur Debit card to register. They will send u a username and ur mobile app registration code. Really awesome app. See below.

Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Jeffy1206(m): 5:52pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Stanley08:lol. I just must cos I saw the branch where I went... Unfortunately they couldn't open the account today. And I was told that it will take 5working days for the card to be ready. Keep you guys updated. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 5:56pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Jeffy1206: Lol. Diamond Bank is the quickest I've seen 3. And it was ready. Ecobank took me 10. And their rates are still shyte! jerrygome: You welcome mate, watch the first page for latest updates. |

nenyibabs: You not alone, my transactions were declined over and over again on a merchant website (neteller.com) as well. This gut me really frustrated, coz have made payment severally (2-3 times) on that particular merchant from my diamond visa card, I contacted diamond cc it seems they having some problems Now I'm think of which bank to obtain a new visa card The current devaluation & dollar rates even gut me thinking hard enough any suggestion guys? |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 11:15pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
codedmax: I believe most of us are thinking Stanbic. Tho i think it's MasterCard. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by codedmax(m): 11:26pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Stanley08: Hmmm, cool maybe just an alternative for my diamond visa for the main time Any way I really dnt like master card and their stiff policy, most site tend to filter (reject) master card issued by naija banks. Visa is generally more accepted say 75/100% |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 12:49am On Mar 27, 2015 |
codedmax: I dont know about that but i know VISA cards are generally more accepted worldwide. However, most of us prefer to go the Paypal route these days i believe. Didn't have too many issues with my Ecobank Visa card after i got the cuddy way to put my billing address until paypal anyways. Paypal is the main reason they switched from VISA to MasterCard. But i think these days, both master and Visa are becoming basically the same thing, I'll be worried about the card issuer's rates than the card itself. Cheers! 1 Like |

codedmax:I guess you have not used master card before cos visa are the ones with stiff policies which makes them more popular. I think mc is easier to use my opinion tho. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 7:16am On Mar 27, 2015 |
Jeffy1206: I kinda agree, the reason ppl use GT Bank too much is that their Mastercard is accepted just about anywhere. Even in the north pole. 2 Likes |

Elemental: Thanks for the info, added to first page. Jeffy1206: True. However still enjoying my Diamond VISA Card. Alipay failed for some reason but when i tried it direct, it worked. 3 weeks straight and rate remains at 204. Very impressive. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 11:18am On Mar 27, 2015 |
tyconcepts: Haha! These banks have gone mad yo! Diamond Bank processed my $1.95 paypal refund at 194.02. Was debited at 204.08 Debit = 397.96. Credit = 378.35 Losing 10 naira per dollar, now dats something. I am calling Diamond Care now. Wat if it was a bigger transaction? Lol. 1 Like |

Jeffy1206: Sure, i have used a couple of master card but I always find myself running back to visa Stanley08: I even gut one, but their token ish made me to solely depend on diamond visa |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Jeffy1206(m): 12:23pm On Mar 27, 2015 |
Stanley08:that's bad... Did you or were you able to link two accounts to your PayPal account? Cos all my efforts to link my first bank visa prove abortive. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 12:27pm On Mar 27, 2015 |
codedmax: Lord knows i won't pay that 2,100 or whatever for token. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 12:37pm On Mar 27, 2015 |
Jeffy1206: Yes my Ecobank MasterCard and my Diamond Bank VISA Card are both linked to my PayPal account. My Ecobank VISA Card never worked, as i said earlier in this thread. PayPal is the reason Ecobank switched to MasterCard. Or at least, one of the reasons. On the Diamond Bank issue, I called Diamond Care and spoke to them for over 15 minutes, which i was on hold for about 10 of those minutes. The only answer i got was that the rate on the day was different, which wasn't true. Anyways my 500 naira credit finished without a real answer and the call dropped, they attempted to call me back but i missed the call, anyways i followed up with the email below. Let's see how they respond to it. 1 Like 1 Share

Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Stanley08(m): 1:01pm On Mar 27, 2015 |
Jeffy1206: Lol. Let's see their reply. Maybe it's a recent issue. I added my Diamond card on the 20th. About a week ago (In Bobby Shmurda's voice) LOL. Or maybe First Bank card doesn't work on PayPal. I don't know. Can anyone confirm adding first bank card to Paypal. Was it visa or master? @haftob and @Elemental are the 2 ppl i know using First bank cards, let's hear from them if anyone of them has successfully added a First Bank card to PayPal. Update: I remember Elemental saying he was charged 210.02 for a paypal transaction. I guess the question now is which card? Let me quote the post. Elemental: |
