I don't blame them, because sometimes even highly intelligent people commit the kind of fallacy the PDP goons are committing, which is, to think that because something happened MANY times in the past , it WILL necessarily happen the next time. So according to the fallacious assumption of some uninformed PDP goons, since the rigging machinery of the PDP has been us sed successfully to rig the party into power at the centre several times in the past, it WILL succeed also in doing so this time around. Before the election, some of them had been hinging their confidence on another equally fallacious reasoning that because GMB has lost election three times in the past, he would also lose this one; or because no incumbent president has ever lost election in Nigeria, GEJ would not lose one. And they also think, erroneously, that because Nigerians accepted cases of subverting their electoral choice and stealing their popular mandate by the PDP in the past, with little or no serious consequences, they would also would also accept it this time around, with no consequences. What a good example of a fallacy! |
