For the first time since Nigeria returned to democratic governance 16 years ago, the east and western parts of the country are about to switch side with respect to being in the ruling vs opposition party. For example, Lagos is set to align for the first time with Aso rock since 1999! But While the south west had mastered the act of surviving being on the other side of the ruling party, South east is just about to have a taste of what it means to be an opposition. The Igbos are very smart and hard working people - forget the brainless saTANoids on nairaland. We have seen some very prominent sons and daughters from that region under Obasanjo's administration. Sadly, GEJ's administration didn't promote any ace Igbo genius. However, I am confident they can weather the storm. But I hope we will not see another TAN singing senseless praises of Buhari if he errs or another Youth Earnestly Ask for Buhari (as we saw during Abacha's era). Those making a mockery of Igbo may soon eat their words as we are about to truly see how resilient new breeds of people from that part of the country. |
