Statement By President Jonathan On Presidential Election 2015 by LordEmperoris1(op): 11:17pm On Mar 31, 2015
Official statement by president Jonathan after the
announcement of the results of presidential election
Fellow Nigerians,
I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the
March 28 General Elections. I promised the
country free and fair elections. I have kept my
word. I have also expanded the space for
Nigerians to participate in the democratic
process. That is one legacy I will like to see
endure.
Although some people have expressed mixed
feelings about the results announced by the
Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to
follow due process based on our constitution and
our electoral laws, in seeking redress.
As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth
the blood of any Nigerian. The unity, stability and
progress of our dear country is more important than
anything else.
I congratulate all Nigerians for successfully going
through the process of the March 28th General Elections
with the commendable enthusiasm and commitment that
was demonstrated nationwide.
I also commend the Security Services for their role in
ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and
violence-free.
To my colleagues in the PDP, I thank you for your
support. Today, the PDP should be celebrating rather
than mourning. We have established a legacy of
democratic freedom, transparency, economic growth and
free and fair elections.
For the past 16 years, we have steered the country away
from ethnic and regional politics. We created a Pan-
Nigerian political party and brought home to our people
the realities of economic development and social
transformation.
Through patriotism and diligence, we have built the
biggest and most patriotic party in Nigerian history. We
must stand together as a party and look to the future
with renewed optimism.
I thank all Nigerians once again for the great opportunity
I was given to lead this country and assure you that I
will continue to do my best at the helm of national
affairs until the end of my tenure.
I have conveyed my personal best wishes to General
Muhammadu Buhari.
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.
I thank you all.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR
President,
Federal Republic of Nigeria
March 31, 2015

HausaFulanis have taken back power, and their sidekick the yorubas are happy. but it all serves nigeria right. ndigbo have shown Jonathan much love by standing by him to the last. if we had got even a quarter of that love from the ijaws and other waterside people during the Biafra war then the whole of our regions would have been liberated from northern backwardness. having said that, I thank ndigbo for proving once more to the south south that in nigeria they've got only one big brother who loved them more than they loved themselves. and I hope that this love will from henceforth be returned from generation to generation

What a lying and deceptive president.

You did not give us your so called free and fair election. Your rigged but failed and will of the people prevailed at last. You had hoped your rigging work but God was greater than you. You did everything in your power to disenfranchise many voters in Imo State and Edo State through unruly soldiers you unleashed on Nigerians. I refuse to believe you indeed gave us a free and fair election. Are you not the same 16 greater than 19 president again? Are you not the same president who unleashed soldiers on people of Ekiti in conjunction with Fayose and rigged an election just because you wanted that state out of control of the opposition?

Save us this "free and fair'" mantra you are trying to claim.

This victory is for Amaechi, Nigerians and our unborn children.

Re: Statement By President Jonathan On Presidential Election 2015 by fritiyo:
thanks sir.
It is necessary i modify this to accommodate my thought on the message of the president.
1 In the history of democratic govt in Africa, GEJ is the first president to allow opposition win election nd still congratulate his opponent.
2 The west predict that by 2015 Nigeria will be divided, but here we are, a nation full of happiness because of election victory and for d uncommon character of GEJ that brought every tension down in the country.
3 The road to a united nigeria has been made possible once again through the effort Gej . this is because he could have fined fault in the conduct of election thereby inserting his supporters to break law nd order in the country. But this kind of character was not shown when he won in 2011 and there was violent in the north neither was there any congratulation message from buhari.

4 Let the whole world should know the real enemy of nigeria between GEJ and is fault finder OBJ. It far more obvious that, GEJ is pure democrat while OBJ a military man who want have is way at all cost.
5 Compare and contrast between the elections hold under Gej and Obj and see who has done our democracy a great arm.
6 The west such as AMERICA Britain France though that, the south will react if in case Gej fail in order for the south to be violent and course mayhem in the oil rich region yet the did not see his kinsman react cause they way more civilized to involved in act of violence to drive home their point. while the north was busy killing people all in the name to discredit Gej yet ICC never invited buhari for post election killing on innocent people. But now they every where treating punishment for offender cos they know the election will be won by the north.
I want to thank the modern hero of Nigeria president Goodluck ebele jonathan, who ensure that Nigerian vote count and one man one vote.
congrat to u sir GEJ
congrat to our new president elect GMB.
God bless Nigeria

Still stuck in the 1970s in 2015? That there is the bane of many like you, you want to get born-again and have the Lord forgive you immediately and be a new creature, but you wan to keep holding on to the hatred of what happened over 40 years ago! Funnily enough, most did not even witness the event but still allow the propaganda to rule and decide how they evaluate political calculations of the present. My dear, it's time to let go!

BTW, while you are at it, try and read about every elections in Nigeria till 2015, the Igbos have ALWAYS supported the North, so I wonder how you wanted to be liberated from "Northern backwardness" by always aligning with the same north. Wake up and smell the coffee, it is 2015!!!
