I took up a job in a new company 3weeks ago after trainings and all. Truth is that I aCcepted the job offer because I was desparate then and all my other applications had fallen on deaf ears. Anyway I got a better job offer 2days ago and I've even accepeted sef. Buh how do I tell my boss u have to quit? Is it proper quit after jus 3weeks and knowing how much my bosses put into our trainings and all. What excuse do I give them. Advise pls cus I feel guilty...dunno y!

As long as you were not made to sign a contract binding you to the company for at least two years, go ahead and QUIT.

Word. No sentiments. It's your future that matters.

Tender your resignation citing other reasons not related to the job, e.g health ,allergies etc Its kinda rude quitting after trainings ,because it costs money.

You guilt is not misplaced. Consider the money put into training & may be some allowances, I feel you're morally obliged to serve them for some time even if for a year. Again your current job might be the one that is sustainable in the long run.
To me don't quit your present job, although, I'm aware your new-found job might be more lucrative. But you can still quit after serving them.

But I advise you communicate to them amicably and, perhaps, offer to compensate them for the money spent with a chunk of your new employer's first month salary or forfeit your old employer's first month salary.

I dont agree with this post...
Dont offer them a kobo. The corporate word is a dog eat dog world....
If they were in your shoes, they wont think twice before kicking your asss to the kerb....
Just imagine there is an issue with the old organisation's funding and they need to downsize, do you think they will give you any consideration before sacking you?
Guy move on but dont just include this stint in your CV! You will find it difficult explainig to future potential employers why you spent 3 weeks in an organisation..... grin

Haba, you are wicked o.lol. Companies actually give consideration when sacking people. Ever heard of severance pay, gratuity e.t.c.

Perfect time to quit too. Tell them you do not think the company is a good fit for you, and quit right away.
Re: Is It Proper To Quit So Soon?! by deniyor: 6:11pm On Apr 06, 2015
I don't think you owe the company anything. If in the time you have been with the company, they find a better person to fill your slot, they will not have loyalty towards you. It is everyone's responsibility to protect their interests.
