In a sudden twist of fate, the Police authorities have directed that the full security details of the factional Speaker of the Ekiti state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Adewale Omirin, be restored with immediate effect

The development follows in the heels of the restoration of the State Security (DSS) personnel attached to Omirin earlier today (Sunday) by a directive from Abuja, a source close to the Speaker told our correspondent.
It is expected that the Omirin-led lawmakers would hold a plenary session at the Ekiti state House of Assembly on Tuesday, having adjourned after their sitting last Thursday at the same venue.
The 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers in the Ekiti State House of Assembly had last week initiated moves that may lead to impeachment proceedings against the embattled Governor Ayodele Fayose.
The Speaker forwarded a notice of gross misconduct to the governor, a copy of the notice was also sent to his deputy, Dr. Olusola Eleka.
But Fayose in his characteristic manner said the APC lawmakers should stop acting like “jesters”, describing the purported impeachment notice as the “joke of the century.”
According to him, the script being acted by the APC is a failed one because no one, no matter how highly placed, will be allowed to test the will of the Ekiti people.
In the letter by the 19 lawmakers titled, “Re: Notice of Allegations of Gross Misconduct,” sent to Fayose, the APC lawmakers listed eight impeachable offences against the governor. These offences bordered on impunity, brigandage, stalking and other constitutional breaches.
These included alleged invasion of the House of Assembly with thugs and miscreants, instigating an unconstitutional takeover of the House by seven legislators to sit in contravention of Section 96(2) of the 1999 Constitution, and prevention of the 19 APC legislators from performing their duties with the use of security agents and armed thugs.
Other allegations listed in the notice are: sponsoring an unlawful impeachment process in the house, spending Ekiti State funds without the requisite constitutional approval in contravention of the constitution and running the government without legally constituted Executive Council in contravention of Section 192(2) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
They also accused the governor of operating an illegal 2014 budget as well as sponsoring and instigating illegal sitting of the House in contravention of Section 96(1) of the Constitution.

Well I think it is not a personal vendetta. Fayose abuse his office and the rule of law. He brought thugs to beat up judges and torn up court records. He chased house of Assembly members out of their office. I believe he should answer to all these atrocities and I feel no pity if he is impeached. He got power drunk

What's vendetta got to do with rule of law? We can not keep allowing governors/thugs abuse us and the system, hurt and maim people, promote violence against the same people they swore to protect and let them get away with it. We have to put a stop to it.

We saw the same thing in Bayelsa 2 days ago when the sitting governor led thugs into a court of law to disrupt court proceedings and beat up public officials. These are chief law enforcement officers for crying out low.

We must all recollect that when Aregbesola came in 2010, he met a PDP majority house of assembly in Osun state. He did not tamper with the existing system instead he friend and identified with them. He left Oyinlola government commissioners too. The way he handled the PDP dominated executive then mapped his road to political greatness. Fayose has been behaving like a mentally unstable individual since his inception into the office. I don't pity the guy at all.

This thug called fayose spoilt his family's good name and damaged the name of Jesus like no tomorrow. He made 7 greater than 20 just as his boss Jonathan who made 16 greater 19. Grow up dude and stop making a fool of yourself. Everyone knows GEJ is now mortally wounded and totally focused on fighting for his own life after May 29th. He said he is "tired" and given his character, dominated by a strong will for self-preservation, we can all assume GEJ will do everything to retire to Otuoke with his loot. This means he will dare not piss off GMB or act unlawfully.

You are deluded if you think GEJ will fight to help Fayose. Fayose is now on his own and if I were a betting man I would fancy the odds in favour of the APC legislators trying to impeach him. GEJ needs to be seen as a 'good boy' till he hands over to GMB otherwise any 'soft landing' deal he negotiated will be repealed. Fayose, the agbero who thought he was untouchable, is now in a real fight. Let us see who wins.

@the bold, if it's true that the police and DSS have restored the security of Dr Omirin as the lawful speaker, then there's nothing fayose or his friends can do about the 19 lawmakers entering the complex because those security operatives will escort them inside unless the police and DSS have started having factions too
