arsetalks:Thank you. I don't understand why Yoruba people believe Igbo must vote for APC in Lagos when other fellow Yoruba will also vote for JK. Vote who you want and leave others alone. If the whole Yoruba people in Lagos vote for APC and the whole Igbo vote JK, APC will surely win. The issue is that Ambode cannot be taken as the candidate of all Yoruba people. The problem of APC is really the division of Yoruba votes (not bad, this is democracy), and not Igbo votes. |

slap1:I am Yoruba. Ironic isn't it? The problem with the igbos is that you always want to go against the people who are your host. You regard the hausas as enemy but go to the north, you find thousands of igbos doing business there. Hypocritical isn't it? You see the yorubas as enemy yet you can't stay off their land and want to pick who govern them as well. The majority who are yorubas in Lagos will vote for APC but because of your "we are the victim" mentality, you want to go against those you perceived to be your enemies. One moment the hausas are your enemy, the other moment it is the yorubas and the hausas. I try not to play the tribe card but fact has to be said. My friend ( I find it difficult calling them friends ) are igbos, they all agree the problem of the igbos is the "we are the victim" mentality. Not every igbo are like this though but the majority are. Sad fact. You see everyone as your enemy and try hard to upset the applecart. The blind knows APC has done well in Lagos. Yours is a meaningless protest vote. Now I expect some uncivil people to quote and abuse me. They will not argue with facts, they will abuse. |

Ymodulus:You always spew rubbish from your poorly developed brain! One thing I noticed that is constant in this rubbish u wrote here is the word-Igbo. Do you have a complex problem with regards d Igbos? In your senseless write up, it never occurred to you that some Yorubas will still vote for JK. And may I ask u, is JK not a Yoruba man? Why the hate on him? What is the rubbish you wrote about allowing Lagos to be aligned with the central govt so that Lagos can develop? Are you saying that Lagos has not witnessed develoent for the past 16yrs it has been in the opposition party? I thought u lot have said that Fashola has done perfectly well? Are you saying a state must align or be in the same party with d govt in d centre before it can develop? Just get off from d internet because you reason like 16th ccentury man. I can't believe people like u still exist. Go home u are full of hate and discrimination! |

What happened is a direct fallout of how people feel about Fashola's clueless govt. It is evident that his govt has not been very popular with the masses. In fact, in 2011, Fashola's govt had to use force and rigging to secure some local govts which the PDP virtually won. It is a big shame that this is happening in Lagos. Now, APC is struggling in Lagos. It was not this bad in the past even when the state was not getting much in revenue. But the clueless Fashola has made the party to lose ground to PDP because of his numerous silly policies that are targeted at making the poor people to suffer. Lagos has always been a sure banker, but now, the PDP has been helped into reckoning because of the numerous nonsensical policies and actions of the Fashola administration |

arsetalks:You are just a pathetic excuse for a human, just like most yorubas. Whats with this your 'host' nonsense? Its only in Nigeria you hear someone refer to a compatriot as 'immigrant'. Most of you yorubas are so disgusting, even more disgusting is the empty ego and braggadocio you lots keep flinging around. So in your deluded ewedu brain, expressing your freedom of choice to vote and exercising your right is what you call going 'against your host'? and respecting your so called 'host' includes falling for threats and seeming intimidation from a senseless and irrational oba-werey? and these FOOLS never hesitate to refer to themselves as 'sophisticated'? BTW, you don't have yo like the Igbos, not like we care about your miserable life and existence, you can as well follow your oba of lagoon and drown with him...not like we care. |

LAGOS DESERVES A HUSBAND TOO! Since the return of Nigeria to civil rule in 1999, Lagos has been a troubled spinster for about 16 years since then. Despite possessing the allure and virtually everything a man could wish for in a lady, talk of beyonce's kind of endowment, in full proportions and in all ramifications too, Lagos has pathetically remained the proverbial spinster by virtue of being an opposition state in the political configuration of Nigeria. What could be wrong with cute Lagos? Why should the most qualified lady, the poster girl of infrastructural development in Nigeria, the most cosmopolitan belle of our time, the paragon of beauty still remain a spinster for 16 solid years? Why? Why? Why? You should ask questions. True to the saying that the patient dog eats the fattest bone, Lagos' dire search for a befitting husband has come to end with the emergence of General Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria's President-elect. Of all the past Presidents Nigeria has had since 1999, none boasts the credentials of Buhari. Buhari and Lagos; supply meets demand, opportunity meets preparedness. Lagos has found a worthy husband!!! Let's marry off Lagos to the center. Help Lagos wed Buhari by voting Ambode (APC) as Governor of Lagos State on Saturday April 11. It is the most anticipated wedding of the Year. Don't miss out on this opportunity. It is an open invite. Every one is welcome. An opportunity once lost may never be regained. Lagos should be aligned with the centre so we Lagosians in particular and Nigerians in general can enjoy the impact of the relationship in our lives. Lagos is the melting pot of cultural, tribal, racial and religious diversity. Matter of fact, Lagos is Nigeria and Nigeria is Lagos. It is the place everyone calls home. Everyone is welcome. You can testify to that. Who was there for you when Ebola struck? Who was there when the Iju Plane crash happened? Who lights up Federal roads at night? Which state is more homely than Lagos in Nigeria? These were questions recently asked by Gov Fashola. Ask yourself a question: would you like the administrative incompetence demonstrated by the outgoing Fed Govt administration to be replicated in Lagos? Would you like thugs to take over the streets of Lagos and harass motorists-you and me just the way OPC did a few days to the Presidential election of March 28? If you are still entertaining any doubt, consider the man hours you lose in traffic every day. The 27km Blue line Lagos Light Rail project which will solve Lagos' traffic problems with 13 stations from Okokomaiko to Marina is nearing completion, and will be launched this December 2015 if there's Fed Govt's support. The Eko Atlantic project, the Ilubirin Housing Project, numerous Lagos HOMS residential projects across the length and breadth of Lagos which we are all witnesses to are happening in our time. Do you want to throw away all of these by voting a party that will cancel the projects because if they are completed, the credit will go to APC only because 'it was an APC project'? Let's not retrogress. Lagos must move forward. Please do not leave certainty for uncertainty; let’s not leave experience for experiment. After the Blue line, the Red line from Alagbado to Marina via Iddo and MMIA will follow. The Green line from Marina to Lekki will come next. The Yellow line from Otta to Iddo next, the Purpule line from Redeem to Ojo, the Orange line from Redeem to Marina, the Brown line from Mile 12 to Marina. By 2017, the whole of Lagos would be serviced by speed light rail. You can keep your cars at home, save repairs and maintenance costs, fuelling expenses and so on and drive you cars on weekends only. Not again will you be waylaid by thugs on the roads at night; no more cases of rapes and so on. These ambitious projects cannot be completed by Lagos state alone. Lagos needs Fed Government’s support. Lagos also needs the FG to part-finance the construction of the 4th Mainland bridge. If Lagos could achieve so much in the last 16 years despite a string of four (1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011) consecutive heartaches and scuttled wedding proposals, would you want to rob this babe of the golden opportunity to wed GMB (Federal Govt). Let's align Lagos with the center for the first time since 1999. Let's not be caught on the wrong side of history. There's only one way to ensure all these dreams are actualized. And it is by voting Akinwunmi Ambode, APC for Governor, Lagos State. Vote for the continuity of these projects. Without a doubt, you can tell that this anticipated wedding would be a mutually beneficial and rewarding one for all of us. It would be enchanting bliss all the way. Come Saturday April 11, come out in droves and thumbprint APC on the ballot. Vote for continuity of the current infrastructural developments that we are are witnessing in Lagos. Eko o ni baje, is not by rhetorics. If you have ever said it, if you like it, if you desire it, it is time to put it to action. Lagos loves you and will always do. It is your home. It is just unfortunate Lagos has to wed now. And Buhari is the eligible bachelor. Lagos cannot double-date. Let Lagos feel like a woman for the first time in 16 years. This wedding is long overdue. VOTE Akinwunmi Ambode for Governor of Lagos. VOTE APC!!! |
