Hajia Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a serving senator and former AttorneyGeneral/Commissioner of Justice of Taraba state and candidate of the All Progressive Congress is set to be
declared the elected governor of the state following
election results that gave been collated. Hajia Alhassan is
leading her main opponent, the Darius Ishaku, a former
minister by a wide margin which signifies that she would
eventually emerge the winner as collation has been
reportedly concluded as at the time of filing this report.
She would make history as the first elected governor of
the federal republic of Nigeria. The closest the females
had was the stint stay in office of Dame Virgy Etiaba who
was in office briefly following a sham impeachment of her
Principal, Governor Peter Obi who was later reinstated.
Hajia Alhassan is the elder sister of Senator Abdulazeez
Ibrahim(1999-2007) who contested for the governorship
sit in 2011 but lost to Danbaba Suntai.
Please, she's not the 1st female Governor in Nigeria. Dame Virgy Etiaba, of Anambra state was the 1st female Governor in Nigeria. Check again.

This story reminds me of the fake story about David's Mark loss. It was all over nairaland, eventhough it was without any source. This story is all over nairaland, yet there's no source. I wonder how nairalanders would be jubilating over stories like this

If confirmed elected, she'll be the first ELECTED female governor.

Dame Etiaba's own still get k-leg because peter Obi's impeachment that brought her up was confirmed by the courts to be Illegal so her 'governorship' was illegal as something can't stand on nothing

And if you well read the Electoral Act and the Constitution, you will see that vacuum in govt at any time is totally abhorred.Peter Obi's impeachment was illegal, but going by the Electoral Act Etiaba's tenure was legal. So also Ngige's administration, though illegitimate.
Etiaba is Nigeria's first female governor, though unelected.

Hmm.
That's quite interesting. So, the likes of Ngige, Etiaba, and Segun Oni can be legally referred to as ex-governors. Amazing.

So said the Electoral Act before it was amended. It's that same mischief the amended Constitution is trying to cure by time-limiting election petition and also allowing elections to hold three months before expiration of current term(s).
Allows enough time both ends to clear up litigation so the rightful/legal winner is sworn in

You have added 2 + 2 together and gotten 22.

What is illegal and has been declared "illegal, null and void" by the judiciary can never end up being legal unless the judiciary make a u-turn.

So because the Constitution "abhors" vaccum, the Electoral Act will now recognise an illegal Governor...kai! I mean even if this was possible (which isn't), between 2 of them "who wear trouser?"

As most people have pointed out Dame Etiaba's regime was illegal and cannot be recognised under a democracy, in fact it never happened as far as "legaldom" is concerned. Everything she did never happened and was null and void. The only way her regime can be recognised is if the constitution was suspended at the time she became governor, which is what every defacto military government has to do when they take power. End of story.
