Asewo! Yes this site has rules (and we know it) n whoever breaks them get penalised, pls tell us the rules n regulations of the oba! And no one will insult the emir because he is well mannerd, knows his place as a royal father and will not make a foool of himself in d media unlike one oba somewhere in lagos. Lastly yuropeens are not gentle or peaceful, they are just cowards simple.
Stop ranting

NL belongs to Seun but once he starts selling parts of this site to other people it wont be his alone anymore!
But nobody sells physical land, it is leased for like 100years and the state government still have the right on the land in their domain. So if you buy land in Lagos, Lagos government can come and say sorry they want to use the land, then they pay you some money(compensation) and collects the land. And also if you buy land in Lagos you still pay tax on whatever you put or do on that land to the state who owns that land!
In contrast, if Seun sells part of NL, then that part is gone for ever!

Money generated from this site goes to Otta not Nnewi grin
Does the revenue of the Lagos state Government go to Aba? Or even Abeokuta?
Too many people are knee-deep into tribalism. Not good for anybody. Let's embrace one another, regardless of tribe and all.

Thank you

[size=13pt]Going by the theory of the Igbos claiming Lagos as a no man's land due to the tolerance and accommodating nature of their host (Yoruba's), would it be right to call nairaland a no man's site considering the freedom given to every nigerian by seun to comment and post topics at willhuh Even nairaland as a site has rules and regulations guiding it which results in punishment if broken by anyone. The Oba of Lagos was just making it clear to the Igbo that yoruba's tolerance is not cowardice. He tried to make them realize that Lagos as their host has rules and regulations they must follow. Unfortunately, this incidence was blown out of proportion by the PDP and agabje using Igbos as pawn to achieve their lust for power. They insulted our King and called us names for giving them the chance to thrive in peace. Who can dare go to kano and insult the new Emir Sanusi without facing a bloodbath? Yorubas peaceful nature doesnt mean we should be taken for granted. I urge every omo oduduwa to pls go back to the drawing board and devise peaceful means to keep these people in check. Say No to Violence, there are ways I think we can achieve this feat and let the visitors know that although we are covered under the umbrella of one Nigeria, we all had our tribes and traditions before the white men colonized us and coined the word Nigeria. Lagos is in the south western part of Nigeria and its strictly a Yoruba land.

You know the reason I hate you yoruba folks concerning this Oba issue? You all fail to accept that the Oba was wrong and condemn his statement.

Here you are saying he was just trying to let the igbos know yorubas tolerance aint cowardice and bla bla bla but you failed to mention he THREATENED the people! Are they slaves?? This man said igbos will meet their end in the lagoon and you say he is just letting them know the rules of the land, so the rules of the land include throwing people into the lagoon because they failed to vote for your candidate.

Get sense

Mr.dickrider, pls grow up and let's stop encouraging hate sentiments. Let's call a spade a spade. The guy akiolu was wrong. He should learn that just because he occupies a so-called position does not mean he can take anyone for granted just because of election and what he will eat from the apc. I believe by now he has been called to order. From all writeups no one insulted him. Let not heat up the polity. I'm an oduduwa too. Let's just be civilized and not go back in time.

I disagree with u! Where was it stated that all lands are on lease? Moreover if the gov wants to reclaim any land it will be on developmental purposes and just like u stated compensation is paid which is equivalent estimate of d value of d property. And if seun sells part of his site he can still reclaim it by buying it back at a higher cost. That is how companies shares are sold n bought.

IBO's are naturally Proud and Arrogant. Imagine, giving the Oba, their host, ultimatum to Apologise. Can a Yoruba man do such in anambara or abia? if dem no eat am, no be ritual dem go use am do? Now that he didn't apologise, what happened, nothing. Ambode still won. They should continue to pitch their tent with losers.
