Removing subsidy is necessary but it has to be done within a reasonable time due to sensitivity and undue hardship it may bring to the common man.

They probably have to get the refineries working first then systematically remove it as promised

I like the realistic power generation target as it can be easily measured year on year

This is a no-brainer:
"7. A very LEAN government is the focus; this will involve resolving overlapping and redundant MDAs; largely in line with the Steve Oronsaye presidential committee report; this report was available to GEJ’s government but the will to implement it was absent"
The issue of subsidy is one that Jonathan soaked in lies and deceit so you can only speak from a certain point of view with no guarantees of its veracity.
Subsidy is a necessary evil although I will love the new government to review the inefficiencies in the subsidy regimen, that will definitely reduce the cost, secondly, the investment parlor for subsidy renewal is so huge that i doubt if Nigeria can afford it.

It's a dilemma for the country, I wonder how long it will take before people will snap out of Jonathan's lies and face the truth for what it is.

All the laws around the power reform were instituted during OBJ regime, Most of the IPP started their construction in his regime too.

The APC will be the majority in the house in the next dispensation. So passing the budget shouldn't be that much of a bottleneck after finetuning certain grey areas. Abeg October seems like eternity to begin to see any changes. Buhari this is not what we agreed na,you promised to hit the ground running. Lately i've noticed how you've been lowering expectations with anecdotes like 'i am not a miracle worker', 'i can't promise to find the girls', 'i can't promise to end boko haram in two months' etc, etc.
This is a complete turn around for someone who vowed to send down fire from heaven to cleanse the entire country and turn it into a paradise. Anyways, we'll be watching and listening with rapt attention. In any event,i still want you to do well because at the end of the day,a prosperous Nigeria will still be to the greater good of all Nigerians and by extension,Africa.
He owes you something if you voted for Change, did you?

Point 11 I'd just the truth. This is the problem in Nigeria.
Re: Highlights Of The Approach Of Muhammad Buhari's Incoming Government by Nobody: 12:12pm On Apr 14, 2015
The subsidy removal better not come first. Shouldn't even come in the first year.

The Nigerian people have too high hope for a better Nigeria and to them, that is larhely economical. With a rise in the price of petroleum products comes a rise in the price of every other. No one wants that. No one wants it ever.

This is the most sensible thing to do, no way the incoming govt. will work with this 90% recurrent expenditure budget when it has plans for quality capital development.
They must have a formidable capital overlay for such projects to get a kick-start.
Besides, I expect them to slash the NASS budget from N150bn to a max. of N50bn, with further plans to make them earn like Perm secs at most in the near future. Those criminals must go and find a proper day job to earn a living instead of feeding fat on our patrimony.
Thank goodness someone understood what I was saying. I thought I was talking to myself all the while.

They're now trying to use the non passage of the budget as a cover up to mask their inefficiencies. If the budget seems to be a problem, they should tell GEJ, a supplementary budget will be passed now and Buhari will pass a standard budget when he takes over. Nigerians don't have time, we can't wait till october for you start being serious.
We waited 6years for your oga at the top to get serious now you admit things so bad we cant wait 4months!

This is the direct opposite of what it means to be clueless. Well done sir.
Buhahahahaha...I have always said governing Nigeria is not rocket science...most of our leaders just make it look complex so they can loot the nation.
See how articulated and practical GMB is. This is a selfless leader who has sort wisdom. They have revealed these strategies to uscto show us they are ready to work and be accountable at the same time.

And if they do not deliver, we change them again and again and again till our nation gets it right.

So glad to be part of the change generation.

Work hasn't started yet, u know?

I am sure GEJ had all these kind of brilliantly laid out ideas but was never able to implement them because of some 'evil' Nigerians. I think GMB deserves our prayers so that It comes to reality.

11. While power reform has been commendable, and will continue, the approach will change. Transmission will be deregulated, regionalized and privatized in order to break down centralized transmission; issues of gas supply to Gencos will be addressed but the new government believes that DISCOs are the biggest bottlenecks presently; the government plan to add-on 4,000 MW of power every year and expect that output will be a minimum of 12,000 MW at the end of term of this mandate

The above can only be a tall dream. I repeat a tall dream.

Quote me after 2019. The same mistake Goodluck made.

Under estimate d rot in power industry at ur detriment.

The transmission infrastructure can't even carry 5000MW of power and this is a highly capital intensive aspect of power generation, transmission and distribution.

Buhari just exposed himself too early
I disagree with you. We need to decentralize transmission since the current national grid can only transmit about 7200 MW. If private investors and state government are able to switch to off grid power generation by relaxing the power sector law of allowing only licensed distribution company to trade in power, the better for Nigerians.

This is what Lagos State Govt and some private estates are doing to have 24 hrs supply. The incoming administration can replicate this in the industrial sectors in clusters thus freeing more capacity for the national grid. Once this is achieved, focus can now return to improving the capacity of the National Grid.

Is it not the same subsidy that jona tried to remove and there was serious demonstration against him in the north and south west.

Deregulation of transmission lines should not be a priority for now, it should be left with the company that is managing it.
The major issues that revolved around the subsidy protest were the NNPC scams(corruption), cabals(our hands are tied-Deziani), and refining capacity for that which we produce (but import). We knew subsidy had to go then.

Possible line the buhari administration will take that will or might not go well with the south
1-outright removal of fuel subsidy
2-fight against 13% derivatives
3-outright removal of armnesty programme (meaning turning the SS/SE Violent)
4-the pattern of appointment and who and region he appoints
5-the grand plan of conferb to favour certain region or set
