Neymar's petulancy shouldn't be encouraged. It undermines a coach If the coach decides to sit his asss on the bench, then I'm sure he asked for it. As a leader, the least you would want is people you are leading publicly undermining your authority. Whatever his reasons are, he must respect the wishes of the coach. He's employed to make these decisions

True. The coach is in charge and I don't support Neymar's gesture when he was taken off against Sevilla but then again he's human and allowed to be emotional too

On another note, I'm sure you know there are player power in every team, whether or not the player shows it. The coach can't continue to remove important players in a match like the weekend's, especially a player enjoying himself on the pitch, and not expect a media/fan backlash. Especially given the fact that we dropped points in the end.

Of course I know that. Let's just be fair and frank, he has been substituted more than one could ever imagine. And for a player of his calibre, it doesn't help his confidence. He has been substituted 15 times this season during the 34 games he started. Now the worse is that, in the league, he had played 26 times, and of those 26 times, he was left to play the full 90 minutes in 13 of those times (50%). For a player of his standard, you would agree that it's very poor, way much more than you could imagine.

Anywayz, I never liked the idea of him protesting or making gestures. But he had been the victim for far too many times.

It's true that his game doesn't depend on stats, but if we are gonna call a spade by its name, we would agree that he hasn't been great this season, as compared to other seasons.

Despite not playing at his preferred role due to Lucho's tactics, yet, that is not entirely a justifiable reason for his very poor stat.

Yeah. Age is catching up with him, he's set his standard so high and he's not playing every game. He still fits in better than Fabregas, even with his lack of goals and assists

Exactly. Plus, Neymar is the second-in-command so-to-say after Lionel Messi. Taking him off every now and then doesn't translate and won't translate good vibes from him.

I don't and won't support such gestures from Ney. But then, the coach is not helping matters. And like you rightly stated, he is allowed to be emotional about it too.
