Barca presidential
candidates have been in touch with
Dortmund coach

Jurgen Klopp could be set to take over
as Barcelona coach in 2015-16 after being
sounded out by several presidential candidates
ahead of the Catalan club's summer elections.
Current president Josep Maria Bartomeu is a big
admirer of the Dortmund coach, who announced
on Tuesday he would be leaving the Signal Iduna
Park at the end of the current
campaign. Bartomeu made contact with the 47-
year-old earlier this season when Luis Enrique's
position at Camp Nou was in danger due to poor
performances and indifferent results.
Bartomeu will wait until the end of the campaign
before deciding whether a coaching change is
necessary, with Barca in contention for the
treble after reaching the final of the Copa del
Rey, still leading La Liga and up against Paris
Saint-Germain in the last eight of the Champions
League.
Former club chief Joan Laporta, who is set to
announce his candidacy at the last minute, has
also sounded out Klopp for what would be his
second mandate and may already have reached an
agreement with the Dortmund boss.
And another candidate, Agusti Benedito, has also
been in touch with the BVB coach ahead of the
elections.
In an interview earlier this year, Benedito told
Goal: "We are speaking to people in all areas and
that includes the sporting side. When the time
comes, we will reveal names."
Initial concerns over Klopp's coaching style have
been dismissed as it is now felt Barca need to
move towards a more modern brand of football,
combining technical excellence and physical
prowess. This makes Klopp one of the favourites
to take over at Camp Nou if Luis Enrique
leaves this summer.
