Good that's my state
lagos never start to produce oil yet all its waters are poluted. even some drainage you can scoop raw diesel from it. what will then happen when lagos starts producing oil? maybe our drinking water will be H2OC2H4.

Ondo oil producing

Lagos about to be oil producing.

Ogun potential oil producing.
Let's take a CRITICAL look at this: Lagos, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom are all along the coastal line. If the last 6 possess oil reserves, why shouldn't Lagos and possibly Ogun possess same? (Food for thought)

Ghana has discovered oil and she's also along the coastline, so Lagos and possibly Ogun should have too.

My hypothesis. Proving, na I'm remain.

I think the problem with our leaders is their lack of ambition for world class legacies. They are so petty!

By now we should have stopped exporting crude, allowing local industries to consume every drop! Why our leaders harbour no desire for great things still beats me!

I totally disagree with u on this one...the problem with nigeria is leadership.we breed leaders re visionless....if we choose to go for state autonomy as u said,niger-delta ll still be under-develope.this is due to d fact dat the region is a beehive of corruption, infact, nigeria corruption capital.......i dont really think the northerners re d problem of nigeria;we re actually d architect of our problems
mulattoclaro:
oil is not the problem but the greed of the north is the problem. I've always clamoured for state autonomy. Let every state control it's resources but the north due to the fact that they're poverty stricken won't want. If state autonomy is implemented today the north will go into extinction because we feed them and the nation at large. The first thing we need to do is to start revoking the oil wells in some of their possession. Kaduna has no business having a refinery cos it's not an oil producing state. A refinery should be built in Edo State as a result of the mega barrels of oil it has in Oriohimwon, Ovia and egor. A refinery should also be built in anambra. Oil is the only natural resource countries like the UAE, Iraq, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Libya, South Sudan, Morrocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Oman and Qatar has but they until utilise it properly. The Nigeria economy also needs to be dualised.

Oil is a blessing

The leaders are a curse...

I don't know Nigerians always avoid blaming the leaders...

Lagos is okay today because Fashola did a below average work unlike Tinubu who let Lagos smell and kept it dirty.

Ambode is yet to work..

I just dey observe.
Haba bros, Nigerians always avoid blaming the leaders? After wetin dem do GEJ? grin

I just wish we can look elsewhere though, develop other sectors and stop this over-dependence on 'oyel', it's fast losing relevance anyway. undecided

It is so sad, 2years ago South African signed steel exportation agreement with China worth $40 billion per annum which is more than what we make from crude oil, yet we have the largest deposit of iron ore in Africa (zamfara state) and the purest deposit in African( itakpe kogi state).

East London where the steel is produce is been called the new rising city, it is part of the new 7 cities south Africa is developing.
This is SAD! Nigeria will be great again! I believe.

Maybe with this development, the Yorubas who are people that are against Igbos having Biafra and SS people having Republic of the Niger-Delta just because they (Yorubas) are scared of what their life will be without oil money can finally rest.
