As far as am concerned, PZ, COCA-COLA, 7UP, CADBURY, MTN, AIRTEL, GLO, ETISALAT, DANGOTE, SHOP-RITES, GOLDEN PENNY, FLOUR MILL, INDOMIE, UNILEVER, P&G, CHI LIMITED, GUINNESS, NIGERIA BREWERIES, OANDO, CONOIL, TOTAL, MOBIL, CHEVRON, SHELL, AQUADANA, KFC, EKO HOTEL, INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL, PROTEA HOTEL,ORIENTAL HOTEL,JULIUS BERGER, RCC CONSTRUCTION, NESTLE, KPMG, GSK, FRISLAND FOOD, WAMCO, BRITISH AMERICA TOBACCO, FLOUR MILL, SCHLUBEGER, AIT, SILVERBIRD TV, CHANNELS TV, LARFARGE,AVIS,CECC etc are not owned by the Igbos. These companies are what attracted millions of people to Lagos.
Igbos shouldn't lay claim that they develop a place by becoming a nuisance. Most of the top churches in Lagos are not also owned by the Igbos. House on the Rock, Redeem, Christ Embassy, Deeper life, living faith, MFM, etc are not owned by Igbos, the only church owned by an Igbo man is TREM, while another Igbo church Lord Chosen church encourage nuissance in Lagos and its also dubbed as the dirtiest church in Lagos.Records shows that 75% of robbery cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 85% of ritual cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of drug cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 70% of fraud cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 90% of pirated CDs in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of fake and Adulterated drugs in Lagos that has killed thousands of Lagosians are carried out by Igbos, in fact, most of the crimes in Lagos are related to the Igbos so how has Igbos developed Lagos when they can't get their hands off crimes?There is no Igbo man among the top three richest people in Nigeria, so how are they successful?The truth is that the Igbos should be grateful that the Yorubas accommodated them in Lagos peacefully, they shouldn't take the Meekness and kindness of the Yorubas for granted.Igbos didn't make Lagos but its actually Lagos that made Igbos.

The South East and South South need to come together and find a way to take this project from the planning stage to reality! Also, i hear Bayelsa is planning one as well!

Inasmuch as i recognize that GEJ could have at least started works on the deep sea ports in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa (no matter how limited they are), i think what happened was that he was focusing too much attention and resources in the north trying to battle those making his tenure ungovernable and also trying to win over the north with more projects compared to what he did for the south....we now know just how much they appreciated his efforts! I believe he felt he would win a second term and intended to use his second coming to focus more on the south. So let's cut him some slack and see the bigger picture when we accuse him of neglecting his zone and the South East!

What we can take away from all this is that one should never procrastinate; use whatever time you have to do the needful as you may not get that extra time you were hoping for!

Yorubas no doubt are reaping immensely from the one port policy of the government, and still at it, insulting and seeking to commit genocide (via the Lagoon). having said that, the money the reap still finds its way into the economy, more money to buy your brothers Yamaya generator etc.

If only gov Akpabio focused on getting this project up and running while he had his PDP & SS man at the center. But alas, he was busy frolicking & dancing atilogwu with Jonathan in Aso Rock, while using his ill-gotten wealth to intimidate his people.

We southerners like to blame everyone else for our woes. Tell me: Why did Jonathan not get this Ibaka Seaport project running? Why did he not resuscitate Tinapa? Why did he not begin the environmental cleanup of the Niger Delta region as recommended by UN report? Why are all the federal roads in the SS region still in a terrible mess? Has Jonathan awarded any oil block to a SS person?

Tomorrow we will blame Buhari (Hausa) or OBJ (Yoruba) for marginalization. Same thing as we Africans blaming the West for all our problems when we Africans are more of a problem to our continent. Smhh!

It is one thing to have the infrastructure up and running and it is another thing to have the required designation for the port.

Just like Airports, categorization determines the capacity of the port.

Enugu Airport was just recently categorized as an international airport which will see that international carriers operate in and out of the port.

If the same FG refuses to categorize the sea ports in the SE coastline for importation but rather maintains them as mere oil tanker jetties and export ports then little can be achieved economically for the SE ports of Warri, Calabar, Port Harcourt and even the yet to be constructed Ibaka port.

This is where the opposition lies and there is every indication that the SW selfishly opposes this, while the north is afraid of any major developmental stride in the SS and SE without them because as things stand with the GDP from these regions a sea port is bound to further enrich these state.

There is also the conspiracy of the French concessioned owners of Tin Can Container port who currently enjoy a monopoly in the business. Opening up another port to the east will surely reduce traffic to their port.
