O Fire Fire on the mountain And nobody seems to be on the run One day the river will overflow And there'd be nowhere else to go And 'he' will run Run Wishing he had put out the fire #whistling |

Dominante:. the moment the drug muller went to contest for a sensitive and respected position and won, the dynamics changed., he has brought real shame and stamped it with authority on me, you and all Nigerians, left for me, if he was just an ordinary citizen, I would have viewed him as a fugitive rat that should be protected within Nigeria, and left to die in peace in Nigeria, but these drug baron is insatiable and not sober, he gunned for an exalted positions in a supposed banana republic. he should be reined in now before, he starts contesting as governor and possibly presidential candidate of federal republic Nigeria, he should be made to answer his charges joor. |

jomoh:U are also right bro but it depends on the angle u re coming from. Definitely, rumours about his drug connections were known b4 d elections.so it can also be argued that d ppl of Ogun defended him with their votes.now u see my point.or do u think d no of nairalanders(from Ogun state) commenting are more than those who voted 4 him.a definite no.truth is we all should curtail tribalism as almost every Nigerian has can element of it.tanx |

Joe82834:Most of the people that voted for him are majorly illiterate that has no access to the internet to know the kind of crime he is supposed to face. Same cannot be said of people (even on NL here)that see the truth and still go ahead to make excuse for such by claiming a conspiracy against their people. I understand your view of trying to plead to people to shun Tribalism. I will also like a Nigeria free from tribalism but we can't achieve that if we don't eliminate favouritism towards people of our own tribe(Nepotism). By favouring your people above other tribe even when your people has not done well will eventually lead to tribalism because in the end the person will eventually alienate himself and his tribe from other tribes. OBJ may be a scumbag but he is one of the most detribalised Nigerian leaders ever. Even if his own daughter is caught in a wrong act he won't protect her. #SayNoToNepotism and #Tribalism will be greatly reduced. |

jomoh:Nice post again. But to add to this, Nepotism isn't a tribal thing but it cuts across all spheres of life n all tribes.even in local govts(all Nigerian tribes) u see an instance where d chairman exhibits favouritism to ppl from his town/village. So its a general problem. Again u said most of the ppl who voted him in were illiterates(possibly true as I can tell). Why then don't u think d Igbo's who would be defending such things are not right thinking .(hope u get my point here) .its wrong to generalise using comments of 10-20 persons in a race with millions of ppl. We all should shun stereotyping n tribalism.#real naija prblm |
| Re: U.S. Requests For Buruji Kashamu’s Extradition by jomoh: 10:40am On Apr 23, 2015 |
Joe82834:Thanks for this. It seems we're on the same page but me I'm seeing things from the root cause of the problem. Tribalism started from favouritism/Nepotism and once you start favouring your own people against others, they(others) start to see you and your people differently. Acceptably every tribe is guilty of Nepotism and eventually tribalism but the reason why most people view the SE&SS people as the most tribal is the fact that they don't hide theirs and always go to extreme to justify it. Example is the issue of Ijaw people calling for the presidential pardon on Ibori while still serving his sentence. Generalising cannot be written off in human existence as long as those 10-20 people still speak out based on their tribe. |

I monitored the elections in 9 Local Governments of Ogun East. Viz: Ikenne, Remo North, Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode, Ijebu North East, Ijebu North, Ijebu East, Sagamu and Ogun Waterside. The APC won highest Legal Votes cast in the Ogun East Senatorial Elections. Buruji Kashamu did not win. The APC Candidate has gone to tribunals to Challenge this purported victory. Many youths in Ogun East are already protesting that they did not vote for Kashamu Buruji. He was only a beneficiary of the Plot to return Jonathan to Power at all cost as the Mobilisation and Planning coordinator of GEJ in the southwest. http://www.punchng.com/news/apc-candidate-challenges-kashamus-victory-at-tribunal/

dokyOloye:Lord have mercy! What an arrogant display of ignorance. Pls dont come and pollute this forum with false.information and spare us the agony of equating travelling passport with immunity. A diplomatic passport merely enables the holder to travel without visas but does not confer immunity on the holder from civil or criminal proceedings. Just because our law enforcement agencies discriminate between the rich and poor should not be misconstrued as immunity. Shikena! |
