Stop bringing your god into this.
That God is the One that creates you and made you what you are today and He is the one that going to kill you whether you like it or not. You can be a believer of whatever ideology but dragging people into your filthy mentality is what I abhorred. So, mr man stop hating on people that call their God the God. Thank you.

Obasanjo Pre-1999 Antecedent:

General Olusegun Obasanjo rose to power in year 1976 after the assassination of General Murtala Muhammed. He set the motion to transfer power back to democratic administration that last tasted power in 1966. He successfully conducted the 1976 general election that produced the second republic government officials led by Alhaji Shehu Shagari and Chief Alex Ekweme.
Obasanjo also has the reputation of building Portharcourt II and Kaduna Refineries, and the Warri Petrochemical Company as Head of State. Muhammadu Buhari was the Petroleum Minister/NNPC Boss during this period.

The Pre-1998/1999 "Poor" and Incorruptible Chief Obasanjo

Obasanjo's 1976/79 Ministers boasts that Obasanjo could not boast of more that N20,000 as at 1998. Obasanjo was just too clean that even the BBC described him as "incorruptible Nigeria leader" in 1999. Today we know the rest of the story.

Obasanjo Came With Lots of Promises

1. March 2, 1999: Obasanjo Promised To End Corruption, and To Lead A Transparent Government

In his first public speech when he was declared the winner of February 1999 Presidential Election election, General Obasanjo called for political unity and promised he would lead "an open and fair and transparent government". He also Promised to fight corruption. In His own words "I will fight corruption,"
"Together, we will strive to bequeath to the next generation a truly democratic system of governance for our country,"
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/289437.stm

November 1999: Obasanjo Also Promised To Revive Ajaokuta Steel Company as well as stamp out corruption
Obasanjo promised to revive Ajaokuta steel and to clean Nigeria off corruption
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/515788.stm

2. May 29, 2000: Obasanjo Reiterated He Will Fight Corruption And There WIll Be No Sacred Cow

in his year 2000 democracy day broadcast, Obasanjo reiterated his vow to fight corruption and there will be no sacred cow. In his own word....
"For corruption, Transparency International awarded us the World Cup...for me I'm aiming put an end to corruption in Nigeria and there will be no sacred cows,"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/766035.stm

3. In 1999 Obasanjo Promised Stable Electricity
Obasanjo vowed to provide stable electricity. In fact his then Power and Steel Minister Chief Bola Ige boasted that the electricity issue will be resolved within SIX MONTHS
allafrica.com/stories/200605260200.html

What Happened Next?

Rather than stamp-out corruption, President Obasanjo was alleged to be enmeshed in corrupt practices. The man who was said to have less than N20,000 before assuming power built a N7 billion Naira Presidential Library for himself, as well as the expensive Bells University of Technology, Otta and other asset. The man that promised "No Sacred Cow" became the complete opposite of his own mantra. The "incorruptible exGeneral" was indicted by the Senate in PTDF scam and was also alleged to have a huge interest Transcorp.

The man that Promised stable Power supply in 1999, had to tell us through his then Minister of State for Power and Steel Senaor Liyel Imoke in May 2006 that "Nigeria Should Not expect stable electricity till 2056" after admittedly spending a whopping N1.3trn on "Power Reform" between 1999 and 2006. allafrica.com/stories/200605150306.html
www.nairaland.com/12883/imoke-expect-stable-electricity-2056

The man that promised to run transparent administration refused to sign Freedom of Information bill in 2007. The man that Nigerians celebrated could not organise a single Free, fair and credible election and treated the court with impunity.

General Muhammadu Buhari

President-elect Muhammadu Buhari like Olusegun Obasanjo has this "incorruptible" tag attached to his name. He was part of the Obasanjo government as the Petroleum Minister between 1977 and 1979. Like Obasanjo, he has vowed to run transparent administration and fight corruption with "No sacred cows". He is said to be "relatively poor" though he has property in Kaduna and Abuja. As at November 2014, he said he only has about a million naira N1m in his account that he had to secure loan to purchase his N27m APC Presidential form.
Like Obasanjo, his election is seen as a "new era" with people having high hopes in him. He promised to give Nigerians stable electricity which he specifically said at his campaign rally in Calabar in January 2015. In his own words “Our industries are dying and will continue to die unless we get the issue of power supply correct. We will resuscitate our industries,”http://www.punchng.com/news/ill-ensure-stable-power-supply-buhari/.

Similarities Between Obasanjo and Buhari's Backers:

In 1998, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and the corrupt military cabals were the major backers of Obasanjo's Presidency. In fact, it was Babangida that asked Chief Obasanjo to run for 1999 Presidential election. People had thought that Obasanjo would put all these people where they deserve by prosecuting them, but on the contrary Obasanjo ended up as being a part and parcel of these people.

Buhari's backers include same Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu that is said to have become stupendiously rich within a short period, Alh Atiku Abubakar that was indicted by the Senate and EFCC over PTDF scam, Bukola Saraki, George Akume, Former PDP Chairmen Barnabas Germade and Audu Ogbeh, as well as prominent players within and outside the PDP that were in government between 1999 and 2013.

May God Spare Our Lives To Witness The Full Tenure of The Incoming Administration
God Bless Nigeria

This an illustration of the relationship between Obasanjo and Jonathan. When the zoologist started feeling like he knows it all in his failures, OBJ asked him to swim on his own and now the rest is history.

Buhari is a Man of his Own. Everyone come around him to share in his good name. Irrespective of the politics, GMB's allegiance is to the Masses. Even his enemies will agree whenever they stop lying to themselves.

And for those who have made it a duty to attack Buhari even before he lift a pin, Kontinu. Like OBJ, we just dey laugh grin grin grin grin
......No comment till after 4 years.....

Barcanista, enough of this rhetoric. You impress no one with your baseless assumptions and equally daft conclusions.

You said you will criticize Buhari and his government, why dont you wait till he takes over before you start opening all these redundant threads?

Have you been mandated to open one anti-Buhari thread per day?
He impressed no one and his thread reached 8 pages within 24 hours. Carry on Barcanista, you have many silent followers and admires who eagerly waiting to read from your undisputed analysis. Let hater keep on hating while you keep on being popular with your referenced and informative write up.

I can't just understand while some people lack simple decorum and mannerism. somebody gave his analysis, if u can't counter his analysis with ur own evidence, must you insult? I can't remember if I've ever seen insult like this on any post referring GEJ as daft, clueless etc. why can't we tolerate each other for goodness sake?

So there are adults who think party affiliation has anything to do with performance
We have a very very long way to go
No wonder cups of rice and bottles of groundnut oil are used to entice voters in 2015

So now that the same OBJ is aligning with Buhari, how do you analyze that? undecided
Buhari is being influenced by a PDP mindset and now bound to Fail?
You folks argue against common sense and defeat your own arguments with your own words
You contradict yourself ma'am...You rightly stated that individuals and not political association should define the masses choice of any candidate and at the same time you lay claim that GMB is influenced by a PDP mindset...Which is right after all, a look at the individual or party?
I like how you lots downplay or in most cases deliberately ignore the Tinubu effect when y'all wanna attack using OBJ as a front, or is Tinubu no longer remote controlling GMB as some folks here will have us believe?

In other words you're tacitly implying he's less busy which is akin to joblessness... Lmao if only GEJ did his bid, who's to say we'd not be free of this everyday cry from a frustrated soul? It's definitely a case of one write up too many...
