Several times I get confused when I see highly educated people miss using the word Tout for Lout, why?
According to advance dictionary

Tout means: 1. attempt to sell (something), typically by
pestering people in an aggressive or bold
manner.
2. offer racing tips for a share of any resulting
winnings.

Lout: a young man who behaves in a very rude,
offensive, and sometimes violent way:
Example: Teenage louts roam the streets at night.

So why do people like Tinubu, GEJ, Buhari, Sanusi and many other educated Nigerians end up miss-representing tout for lout?? Could it be that the dictionary is not updated when they were in school?
Even if I correct some people around on this I end up been abused and disrespected especially when I can't get quick access to a dictionary to confirm my point.

English is a living language. Therefore, what WAS may not be the SAME as what IS correct. However, your observation is most appreciated.

And I wonder how you failed to realise that what you represented as two words "miss used" is actually wrong and should be one word: "misused".
And it should be in its present tense not in its past tense, most likely because of the presence of the auxiliary verb.
