mam to be on safer side go along with it u can go to ur local govt in ur home town and if it's too far some states have liason offices in VI though I don't know d addresses o

certificate of origin is not too important. If you have birth certificate, then no problem, and if worst come to worst, affidavit can be used(just N500 at High court here in ife)...
