For those living in bayelsa, how is it like in terms of cost of living,lifestyle.

Hi. Am a batch C 2014 corper currently serving in bayelsa. Bayelsa is a cool place just dat d cost of living is so so high. Some of u should also be prepared to be posted accross waterr after camping of out of d 8 local govt areas in bayelsa. is only two dat are on land. Once again. Welcome to bayelsa state~d glory of all lands. Holla me if u xperience any problem. My ppa is in yenagoa

I won't say d water issue is so bad cos there are stil corpers serving in those places and they are fine. Infact corpers accross water enjoy more dan d ones in yenagoa cos u get a good accommodation,more job opportunities and good pay dan those of us in yenagoa. But if u are he'll bent on serving in yenagoa, then I wil advice u join a group in camp either obs, football, volleybal,mdgs,redcross,band group etc

Cost of living is a bit high in Bayelsa..

is it possible to get free accommodation given by ppa?
How high r the chances of getting oil jobs there?
For someone coming from southwest,can u tell us how to arrive at d camp,where to stop,how many buses to take etc in details.

Am a batch B corps member about to pass out in two months time. Cnt forget 5th Aug 2014 the day I reported to my state of deployment Kaiama camp,Bayelsa state.
I wish all d Batch A 2015 otondos safe trip to Kaiama Camp,My PPA is in Yenagoa. You can contact if in anyway u think I might be of help to u.

U are sure of accommodation if u are posted accross water. Most corpers lodges in yenagoa are not too conducive but it's manageable since its just a 1yr tin but if u wanna rent a self con in yenagoa. U shud keep btw 120-160k per annum. Der is mtn, glo,airtel and etisalat networks in camp. If u are eyeing oil job after camping,then be prepared to go accross water to a place like brass where u use a speed boat to travel on water for upto 4hours. They have quite a number of oil company's in brass lik mobil etc

Ppa's accross water provide accommodation. Also some ppa's in yenagoa provide accommodation aswell but not as conducive as d ones provided accross water. Except u hav d money to rent an apartment. As for d state alawi, corpers on land receive 3k monthly while corpers accros water receive 5k monthly but dis money is paid at d end of ur service year.

it depends, some school do have accommodation. But if u are posted to other local government, apart from the capital, the have wat we call lounges were corper can stay.

But I can actually build connections there.
