Buhari's Transition Team: South Sends In 2nd Eleven Team by cuteboy2(op):
Mansur Ahmed and Ahmed Joda (old super perm sec of Gowon era) will be the real driving force and bedrock of not only the transition but also GMB regime. These people will likely make it his cabinet as well.

The North has sent in strong quality people. Who are those representing the South??

* Rotimi Amaechi (no more political base. Not cerebral enough. Easy to distract with some rabble rousing task)
* Ogbonnaya Onu (follow-follow, and voiceless)
* Lai Mohammed (no comment)
* Odigie Oyegun (APC Chairman. Too distracted by myriad of post-election party affairs)
* Some nameless tag alongs in ill-fitting suit and weather beaten shoes (front row)
* Two unknown women

BIG QUESTIONS:

(1) WHY ARE KAYODE FAYEMI and RAJI FASHOLA MISSING FROM THIS TRANSITION TEAM. THEY WORKED THIER AS.S OFF DURING THE CAMPAIGN. THEY WILL NOT BE IN ANY ELECTIVE OFFICE FORWARD, SO THEY ARE AVAILABLE.

(2) WHO IS JAGABAN'S POINTSMAN IN THIS GROUP?

(3) WHY IS AMAECHI AND OYEGUN SITTING AS SPECTATORS AMONG THE CROWD?

(3) WHY IS AHMED JODA OCCUPYING SUCH PROMINENT POSITION ON GMB’S LEFT. SHOULD THAT NOT BE OYEGUN’S RIGHTFUL PLACE? JODA’S HIGH TABLE SEATING ALREADY SPEAKS VOLUMES OF HIS PROMINENCE AND SENIORITY IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS GOING FORWARD.

(4) SINCE WOMEN ARE REQUIRED TO BALANCE OUT THE CABINET, WHERE IS THE STRONG AMAZON, ABIKE DABIRI?

Nothing personal against, Ahmed Joda. He is a seasoned civil servant in same class as Phillip Asiodu, when civil service was populated by the best and brightest. My worry is when the South sends in 2nd eleven, the North sends in the best and top rate people.

Hahahahahaha. The game has already started!!! And the referee has not even blown the whistle!!!!

shocked cool shocked cool Hmmmmmm. We are watching shocked cool shocked cool

Ahmed Joda is the chairman of that "Transition team" and for that reason, he deserves to be at the high table.

Why are you guys so bitter about this man victory? He had contested and won the election clean and clear to the whole world.

He ll be there for another 8 years if God wants him to.

Why don't you say all this when Jonathan feel everywhere up with Igbos for crying out loud.

Bounce you fool

Nigeria people, what can this Man do again to satisfy you. @ the O.P must u dictate whom Buhari chose for the transition committee. If that's is your own view why don't you contest for the post of the president?

Bolded is strange way to look at issues.

I am sure you have commented on variety of issues on Buhari and other previous Nigerian Presidents. Did you contest for the post of President before voicing those issues? undecided

Buhari will be president of Nigeria, not a section or component of it. In democracy the plurality of opinions must be considered. That does not amount to dictating to the Buhari. In any case, the original post was about the need for representation from other sections to be of similar quality as Ahmed Joda and Mansur Ahmed. To right thinking people that is a positive suggestion.

Buhari indeed has a lot to fear from those who are trying to overprotect him. It is this kind of attitude that will eventually insulate GMB from the masses and contrary views. He does not need this kind of protection. This has been the bane of African leaders - being surrounding by "yes men", who only tell him sweet words. It is toxic.

I ignore the insult. Focus on issues.

No one, at least not me, is bitter about Buhari's election. Elections were over 4 weeks ago. We are transiting to governance. Hello oooo. Hope you are in this planet?

Buhari does not belong to you. He is Nigeria's President. Don't imprison him. Free the man. GEJ will tell you more about being taken prisoner by palace courtiers.

Buhari's constituency is Nigeria. Not every comment is meant to harm. The need to have strong and quality representation from all part of Nigeria, not only in the Transition Committee, but also in the incoming cabinet is a good one. Buhari needs to have access to diverse opinions and feel the pulse of the all peoples of Nigeria, not only "yes men".

There were a lot of hue and cry of Igbo domination of GEJ govt, though I don't know how this came about since all sections of the country were represented in the cabinet in deference to the constitutional restriction of Federal Character and 2 minsters from each state. Others chose to go there and adopt siddon look approach like. Some were mute and invisible ministers like Adoke Mohammed the Minister for Justices.

We also forget that apart from the Cabinet, there are many MDA's and Boards of companies, Universities and various tertiary institutions where FG owns, or has interest. People from all sections of the Country sit and oversee these organisations. They were not all Igbos

I love every bit of your write up 'till I got to 5th paragraph

This is one thing I hate about liers; seeing the obvious truth and try to deny it. No matter how obvious the truth is, a liar would do everything to cover it up.

It's only an insane man that ll say GEJ administration wasn't filled up with Igbos.

President - half Igbo

Deputy Senate-Igbo

Deputy Speaker-Igbo
(Any appointment that goes either NC, NE or NW is recognised as Hausa/Fulani appointments and that is why Bayelsa is on this list)

CBN - Igbo

Finance-Igbo

Petroleum-Bayelsa(Igbo axis)

Minting and Printing-Igbo(parastatal)

Power - Igbo

Health - Igbo

The above ministries are the important ministries except unmentioned 3 ministries.

Igbos marginalisation rhetoric was what led me to know much about Nigeria history. I picked up books and read extensively about Nigeria history but found out that Igbos had taken more governmental appointments than any other ethnic groups in Nigeria.

I grew up hearing Igbo marginalisation and all that. I bought this assertion and started supporting Igbos agitation for more federal appointments.

I expected Igbos to talk about marginalisation of others during GEJ administration but chose to keep quiet cos they were enjoying every bit of the whole nepotism and Marginalisation of others. Now, Hausas/Fulanis are there, let them enjoy it for the next 8years.

Finally, having witnessed what happened during GEJ tenure, the most tribalistic administration in the history of Nigeria just like Aguiyi Ironsi govt, it is not a problem if Fulanis/Hausas fill up everywhere with their people cos what us good for the goose is equally good for the gander. Yorubas had their opportunity with Obasanjo but messed it up by filling it up with the same Igbos that hate them - Ezekwesili,Akuyili, Andy Uba, Wabara, Nnamani, Okadigbo, Soludo, Ngozi Iwealla, Ego etc

LET THEM ENJOY THEIR TENURE.

I don't even like the whole stupid marriage.

Yorubas today and Igbos tomorrow

What is the freaking problems?

Why can't these useless leaders just come up with peaceful separation arrangements even if it's through war. At least, it ll be d last battle/war.

I don't subscribe to this opinion of one Nigeria

If not cos of one Nigeria, Yorubas would have gone far

are you very sure of this assertion.

apart from Lagos and abiokuta, the south west has little or nothing tangible in other of their states . akure is gradually taking shape but not measuring up yet.

cocoa is not enticing to the youths neither is the free education that brought them to lime light still there so how will that happen.

we all have our regional problems but we all that have same mind set and approach to tackling our problems

I have told you time without numbers that the economy of a country does not determine by how many story building you have. If you were to determine how wealthy a country is by story building,I think Germany and Hong Kong would have been d best country in the world.

You don't need Economists to tell you which region is the best in terms of education, social infrastructures, quality leadership, business viability between South West and South East. The number of other Nigerians in South West says it all; Yorubas are far ahead......

Stop saying apart from Lagos that South West has nothing. In all developed countries around the world being US, UK or France, there are particular cities in these countries that remain their centre of excellence and commercial as well as financial hub. US - New York, UK - London, France - Paris.

If UK countries decide to go their separate ways today, the best city that ll be left in England would be London and Birmingham, Scotland- Edinburgh and Glasgow, Wales would be Cardiff. So you see that Yoruba Nation is like every other developed nation around the world.
Yoruba Nation has got Lagos(Commercial just like New york) and Ibadan(administration just like Washington DC ).

You should be more concerned about the East where is no possibility of having their own port. Igbos businesses would be at the mercy of Akwa Ibom people as far port is concerned.

The number of your brothers and sisters in Yoruba nation says it all. Human being naturally migrate to where their lives could be better not the other way. The way you and your kinsmen run to the West say it all

You are sounding angered by my question, i will let this conversation end so it doesn't degenerate into tribal attacks
just be reminded that there are igbos in Yemen ,Sudan and Benin republic.

there are also ogonis in Benin and ivory coast and Cameroon. is Benin, Cameroon and Sudan better than Nigeria
there are also Americans and Britons in Nigeria. does that make Nigeria better than America and Uk. there are countless numbers of indians in Nigeria also.

is Nigeria better than India
