we implore coppers serving in Abia State presently to give us clues and educate us as regards serving in Abia State. please lets endeavour to introduce ourselves as we keep the posts coming. I am Adebayo Afuape, a graduate of Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umunna, Bende Local Government Area, Abia State. Anyone have idea how to get to the address?

Edo princess Zerray (Ummuna bende), YinkaOduola and Yask2guy/ Yaks2guy, please we need you to tell us how not to be a security threat to the indigenes and many more in God's own state of Abia. Thanks in advance.

Umunna Bende camp will ve full of fun, feel free to ask me anything, I serve in Abia, state, I live in state capital, though posted to a village (Umudike) but I prefer to stay in town. I live life, catch fun and go to my ppa without problem. Alawi also comes in on time.


Less I forgot I am serving in Michael Okpara uni of agriculture Umudike.

How to get there is simple, get a buss to Umuahia the last bus stop is Ishi Gate, plead to the driver to take u to any Park u can get Bende. I pray it's not late to get here cos everything stop as soon as it 9pm here, so plan urself well. If you don't ve anybody in Umuahia to stay with if you come late, it may be risky been a first timer.

Meanwhile it's a 8-10hours journey from Lagos, Ekiti, ibadan and ogun. Don't know of other place sha ooo.

Let me welcome and congratulate you all for the great privilege you all have been given to serve your fatherland.

It will be appropriate to let you know that Abia state is one of the states a corper should be glad to serve in. You have an assurance of a minimum state/additional allowance of 4k or 5k/month,

Talking about the camp, it's a permanent site for NYSC and as such you have all necessary facilities except ATM machine.

The camp activities are always superb... Thanks to Mrs. Ngozi Ukwuoma and the entire OBS crew! Enough faaji for you, so don't dull the moment!

So, incase you've got any question, pls feel free to ask...

I served in Abia. I passed out last year February. If you are going to the camp from Lagos. Take a bus to Umuahia, alight at Bus stop gate in Umuahia, take a cab going to Ohafia via Igbere. Tell the driver you are going to Igbere before Abriba. Once you alight at Igbere which is just about 300-400 naira from Umuahia. Cross to the other side of the road and walk straight to camp.
Pls do not tell them you are going to Bende cos Bende Town is a Lil far from Igbere where your camp is.
I wish you guys a smooth trip and lovely stay in camp. I really enjoyed Abia.
The camp is very cool and interesting as well.

If you take off as early as 8am, you can get to Umuahia latest 5pm all other things been equal, Umuahia to Igbere camp is just about 40 minutes drive. Plssssss don't go through Bende Local government o cos that one na long thing, Mind you Igbere town where your NYSC permanent orientation camp is located is still part of Bende Local government which is the biggest LGA in Abia State. if u'r comn from ekiti u may nt be able to get umuahia straight u av to first board a bus going to onitsa at d garrage in Ado Ekiti(along ikere road) then from onitsha u'll board a bus going to umuahia.from Umuahia u can board a bus going to igbere cnt wait to see u here.Proudly EKSUITE currently serving in abia isuikwuato local government

Currently serving here in umuahia,the camp is a nice place..the hostel is good except for the toilet and bathroom..then when I was in camp,there is a place where I pay 100 naira everyday to toilet and bath conviniently..but if u fit use the hostel toilet like dat u can,but be rest assured it will be mess up by ur fellow corpers...DRop at ishi gate in umuahia,ask for cooperative,from there u will get bus going to the camp in umunna bende easily..welcome to umuahia...serving in Michael okpara university umudike but living in umuahia

. From bauchi,if u can get a bus going to onitsha,from onitsha u board a bus going to umuahia..from onitsha to umuahia is not more than 2hrs 30mins...from there u can get to gate and get a bus going to umunna bende where the camp is situated

. Eksuite connection,finished from Unad too..leave very early so that u can get bus in umuahia to the camp easily..board a bus to onitsha,get another bus in peace mass park at onitsha to umuahia and get a bus going to bende in gate which is the last bus stop

The state pay 5 thousand naira but not regular, hoping the incoming government will normalize and regurailze it. No Xenophobia here, Abians are lovely people except u found ur self in isialangwa, though no recent record of cannibalism but records show dey do, and I don't play such is revive. Coming from Ekiti, get a bus going to onitsha, from onitsha you will get Umuahia, the last bus stop is Ishi Gate, enter a bus going to Ummuna Bende, tell modem Nysc Camp and u are good to go.
