just saw this thread now. I must say Barcanista did a good job here. Again, if we don't see his post from the APC perspective and be objective, we'd know he made very good points. To be able to clean up NNPC we really have to look at it from past. the objective should be patriotic. A lot of things have happened there. some persons worked for OBJ in NNPC in the 1970s... They were also brought back in 1999..... and there were fraud reports about these people. Even them Obaseki need to clear some things. The problem is that rather than us take a broad view of this issue, we are just foolishly looking for $20billion all with the aim of attacking GEJ because some of us hate him. Its annoying. I just hope Buhari is not thinking the same way most folks on Nairaland think. We need to look at the petroleum sector holistically, and not about attacking GEJ. |

patrickmuf: patrickmuf:To the extent of the existing controversy as raised by sanusi lamido sanusi of missing funds; I am satisfied. But going forward especially given recent buhari subtle blackmail cum threat to Jonathan; for which Jonathan has responded to him positively. I support a complete probe of NNPC books not witch hunting of individuals or any selective prosecution... |

barcanista:I just get tired responding to most folks here because there mode of reasoning are quite ridiculous and appalling sincerely...Is it a problem of their age or that of brain deficiency ![]() Anyway, why I wholeheartedly support this probe stuff is because most of the people these charlatans hope to see in jail or roped in corruption will be free eg Jonathan... while most of those who chant "change" and wave brooms like native doctors will be conspicuously exposed for whom they are...Quote me, most of these APC guys & consultants are complicit in this NNPC corruption saga...Buhari is only making noise, he won't dare open that book... |

Mynd44:Sincerely, when I read your post accusing Jonathan administration of wanton corruption & evil...And at same time, see you glory in the extension of Tinubu dynasty in Lagos down to other APC SW states, I imagine how hypocritical and insincere one can get without qualms of conscience...You need to do some sober reflection bro...Because it is not about good governance to you with such double standard but some innate hatred for people & their progress... |

Mynd44:smh...You now need proof...Where's your proof for all the corruption allegation and insults cum emotional conviction you undertake daily here against Jonathan and his administration... Did any court convict any of them ...You see the hypocrisy, hatred, and bigotry that I have been accusing you of...You need proof even with all the daylight looting going on in Lagos at which Odumakin said he owes Akala an apology having seen the mother of looting in Lagos...All Tinubu estates here including TVC headquarters, Lekki toll wahala, Tinubu tax collection company even with idle civil servants employed for same purpose, etc You really need a sober reflection bro...NO JOKES HERE... |

barcanista:Only those with guilty conscience will feel their peace is being disturbed because an incoming president is telling those who elected him what he is thinking of doing. How is telling us he will take a second look at SLS's allegation of unremitted fund a disturbance of peace? |
| Re: NNPC Probe: A Welcome Development... by vicadex07(m): 11:32pm On Apr 29, 2015 |
MizMyColi:Pls stick to the romance section. You know nothing of politics except emotional sentiments. So the fact that buhari decided to probe the $20billion under GEJs regime means he is witchhunting him and his followers? Are u trying to tell me that money is too small to probe and we should just forget abt it? A whole CBN governor exposed this massive fraud, lost his job cos of it in a suspicious manner and we should just sweep under the rug as one of those things. Hear yourself pls, unless you or your family members are part of the beneficiaries, what you're saying is so damn senseless. |

Whynotthetruth:Excuse me...are you also saying all that happened under GEJ are just petty stealing and stealing is not corruption? You mean you are still looking for the proof of Subsidy scam, Pension scam, Purchase of armored car scam, Immigration job scam, NNPC unremitted fund, spending of almost $9B on subsidy by NNPC that has no budget approval, all that took place under GEJ administration... |

barcanista:@Bolded For this particular line in your comment, you're a very useless hypocrite. I thought you Barcanista told us that "Buhari is clean" and Obasanjo gave him a clean bill absolving him of all those allegations after he (Obasanjo) studied the report from the audit carried on Buhari's PTF Administration?? Were you high on spoilt beans then?? You're just a totally messed up personality. It's a big shame. |

Whynotthetruth:Lols, @whynothetruth Please follow your path. I saw your comment on my thread. I actually gave it a like. It made sense to me, even though it's something I cannot carry out personally based on my convictions and ideals. I just think we can do better with the name callings and mockeries (direct and indirect)....honoris causa tins. That said, Let everyone stick to their true calling. If everyone is peaceable and agreeable like me, then Politics of Opposition is dead. Even the incoming government wouldn't want that. ![]() |

. . . . . . . . like one of the earlier posters said, some jobless youths will sit behind a computer or tap on their chinco phone to rabble gibberish . . . . . . . . . . . .Buhari has not been sworn in as president neither has he made a presidential pronouncement . . . . . . . . . . .sadly for the nairaland thwarts, Buhari is at liberty to start his probe at any period, he is at liberty to start with any individual be it ex or dying president . . . . . . . . . . . .every dog has his day, GEJ sat (and is sitting) on the Aso Rock sit for about six years without probing a rat . . . . . . . . .and some inconsequential thwart comes here to outline the time frame GMB should operate on . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .if your dog was a Chihuahua that couldn't find its bark, mine is a pit bull and it picks its fights, starting with the present irritant . . . . . . . . . . . . .Buhari will probe who he wants, when he wants and how he wants . . . . . . . . . .and there's no gaddam thing a 'ghost online cry baby' can do about it!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .now I can go back to my morning dose of 'HERO' |

torkaka:The campaign speeches/promises he made and anything he has said till now and beyond have become presidential pronouncements since he was declared winner of the March 28 elections. I hope that is something simple enough for you to understand. Buhari is at liberty to do what he wants or not do anything sef. That is his choice. We will assess the choices he made and make OUR own choice at the ballot box in due course or get our senators and representatives to make that choice on our behalf if he slides too far before the next election due date. I also hope that is something simple enough for you to understand in our 16 year old democracy that was fought for by valiant heroes of our dear country against Buhari's "saint" Abacha! |

anonimi:. . . . . . . . . . . .like I asked some other thwart, what is the constitutional role of the 'president elect'? how can Buhari's speeches pre-may 29th be presidential? do we have two presidents? . . . . . . . . . . .what choice are you talking about? your choice was given the booth . . . . . . . .you are not in any position to assess anything . . . . . . . . . .it is we that can assess our choice and decide . . . . . . . . . .your numbers (even with incumbency) have been rendered useless!! |

Muhammadu Buhari Is Our Candidate- Nairaland Progressive by barcanista(m): 7:44pm On Nov 16, 2014 Members of the Progressive Caucus on Nairaland unanimously endorsed General Muhammadu Buhari as their sole candidate for the 2015 Presidential Election. The caucus made the endorsement on Saturday, 15 November and Sunday, 16 November 2014. General Muhamadu Buhari, a Presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress is favoured to win his party's December 10 Primaries and go on to defeat the incumbent President Jonathan of the People's Democratic Party in the February 14th Presidential poll. He was a former Military Chief that has served Nigeria in various capacity including Military Governor of defunct North West, Petroleum Minister, Chairman NNPC, Military Head of State for 20 months and Executive Chairman of defunct PTF. As a public servant, he distinguished himself as an incorruptible administrator, a gentleman of repute, a disciplined officer and a patriotic statesman. The endorsement also serve as a message to the APC leadership, conveying acceptance of Buhari by the Progressives and informing the party that the Daura born General is the best man for the job, and the right man to dislodge President Jonathan and the PDP from Aso Rock in 2015. https://www.nairaland.com/1998766/nairaland-progressives-lets-endorse-muhammadu. @ Barcanista , this is what you said about Buhari, few months ago................................................................................. |

OAM4J:And yes, I am looking for proof backed with convictions/judgements by courts of competent jurisdiction ![]() If you can't see any corruption in Tinubu, Fashola, Aregbesola, Saraki, Amechi, Kwankwaso, Magoro, Bagudu, and many other APC stalwarts that chant change; whose antecedents Jonathan is far better than then be sure, that nothing is wrong with Jonathan administration... Quote me, all the problems of Nigeria in years past has congregated in APC chanting change...So I expect no miracle or change from buhari presidency...They're core digital looters with sycophants singing their praises and being blind to their corrupt activities... |
