I follow this thread, though I am not in this recruitment. When you were asked the question on accounting standard, was there a follow up question or you were required to just name a standard?
Just what i know about d standard

Hey..I had my interview yesterday. I guess it went and d pwc staff are very pleasant.. first of all, I was asked to tell them about myself and why I think I have the skills to work at pwc.I was also asked questions about:
1.leadership roles- this included questions about my reaction to hypothetical scenarios where my group members refused to work.
2. Any topical issues except xenophobia grin , expect follow up questions on your topical issue
3. Time I faced an ethical threat with a friend and my reaction to such threat.
4. Some basic audit questions relating to sales cut off (guess I was asked this because of present place of work)
5. An accounting standard ( guess it's because I'm currently writing ACCA)
6. how I build and keep relationships with people

My advice is to take time to think about your answers so your answers make sense and if you don't know the answer to a question, don't be shy to say " I don't know".
The interviewers would see right through you. They are good like that..

I hope this is of some help to those yet to have their interviewers and best of luck to those yet to have interviews

a. why stressing yourself when you don't need it.

b. pressid is far beter. Staffs in pwc will fight to have this opportunity.

c . I know people last year that dumped pwc job placement for oversea scholarship

d. I guess you want pwc. Please tell pressid to give me your slot once you get the job.

Thanks

@usqoh, I believe macmaster01 mentioned earlier on the thread that he is taking up on the pressid scholarship, just wanted the experience of pwc interview.

@macmaster01, just speaking from experience, I believe experience really matters in this day and age except what pwc is offering isnt ur ultimate goal and you really want to specialise in your choosen field. I have a masters degree from a foreign institution and that does not automatically translate to a job. You still have to pass job tests, interviews etc or if an experienced role, have the required experience. It may be different for your field sha.

If pwc offers study leave, I will suggest you take the job if sucessful and obtain a study leave. I believe one can defer pressid scholarship, I know some1 who did for this same job reason.

True talk bro. Am in the same shoe as MacMaster01. Would have stick to ur advice. But PRESSID continuity after this set(or even this set) is in jeopardy, and I prefer an Academic career.

This is a very good advice. And the cars parked outside their office today (in the compound) were too attractive for me to refuse Pwc offer if I'm given. Anyways I'll just let God's will be done

The group topic details actually doesn't matter because they haven't repeated any topic yet, but trust me it's a basic Nigerian issue like "how can Nigeria improve her economy through agriculture". Etc concerning the interview if I give the details I'll just be repeating d same thing my ogas hv said before.
