I always wonder from the showmanship, lifestyle, glitz, razzmatazz(?) and seeming opulence of many Nollywood stars and musicians whether they are actually as wealthy as they appear. Some live in choice property in Lekki, flaunting state of the art cars in their garrage, and tour the world at will. Then when they are sick or when they die, you start to hear about how they have been neglected by colleagues, government etc. My question is this: what these celebrities earn and flaunt, is it part of the drama? If (God forbid) Debanj or Alibaba gets sick tomorrow, will we hear of the same neglect? When Blackface, Tina Sam Loco, Obiekwe .... Let me leave it there joor.

Not jus nollywood alone sis, its everywer, a situation where children won't take care of der parent we'll in der life time den kill 20cows blocke a whole street fror burial wen dey depart.

What a pity! He was one of the best Uncle/Father characters in old nollywood. Why are these veterans neglected like this? Actors guide Nigeria and Ibinabo should step up and look into this issue. Not everytime politics and show offf,sometimes look into the welfare of these helpless veterans. Haba!

The fact is that there are show off celebs like poko,jim iyke,rita dominic etc. But some nollywood actors just live their lives away from limelight. Some of these veterans belong to this category,most of them have families and acting puts food on their tables. Nollywood is more or less concerned with who wears the latest shoes,drives the latest cars and who has the highest number of followers on instagram. Nobody pays attention to the other category of actors and actresses.

R.I.P! i remember when he came to my school in 2003(Queenmaris College). He encouraged us to strive to be the best. i doubt if actors of nowadays find time to visit secondary schools. All they do is flaunt their wealth for everybody to see.

my problem with u guys here is that,many of u dnt knw how to tlk or mak a good comment. Someone died n u assume is a curse in nollywood,cant human beings die irrespective of their organisations? Pls be level headed in brain before making unreasonable comments here.

Don't blame d younger / wealthier generation of artistes, rather blame d old guns that refused to see ahead of time and invest adequately to safeguard their future. I find it rather strange that some old people that had a good source of livelihood in their prime, don't have a life/health insurance plan. Some of them lived a reckless life in their prime and ate into their future when the wise ones where busy saving.
