What many of these so called union ranging from NUT, ASUU, NUPENG,NMA, NUC etc don't realise is that all so called frivolous strike and untennable handling of issue concerning entire populace won't be accepted under Buhari.
The general regime will be protected by masses who voted the Man into power to emancipate them.. No doubt institution like legislature will try to flex muscle as most of president elect action to favour masses may be alien to the but masses will be at the vanguard to let them realises that this is their govt.
this is the most senseless comment in this thread at the moment! so if they go on strike to show their grievances about a particular issue, what will the so called masses do, charge them to court? or sack them or even take up their jobs? Lol....your reasoning is very shallow

Tackle? So ASUU is ready to play football league or what? Now they are ready to fight when the crude oil festival is already over. Where were they when their VCs were toys in the hands of governement? What about the internal corruption? Hmmm! Most of their members are the same lecturers intimidating female students.. And most of those who had been afflicting them are their own products. If Nigerian universities are to be overhauled, many lecturers would be revealed as mere academic touts. Let them go and tackle Messi.

What is wrong with these people self? The one that GEJ has released thus far how did ASUU spend it ? No accountability yet you keep demanding for money under the stupid excuse of underfunding research & university infrastructures . The schools internally generated funds can not be properly accounted for. All we hear is Govt underfunding. All the millions they are collecting for post Ume exams has no account . Yeye people !
Are you referring to ASUU or the university authority? FG did not release money to ASUU but the university authorities to be managed by the university Governing Council and the VCs. ASUU is not in direct contact of the university fund so cannot be held liable for fund mismanagement. The earned allowances promised ASUU by the FG is yet to be released to them. If the FG did not act fast in this regard, there may be another indefinite strike.

point of correction, young man. Your able malam, alhaji or mr Buhari. He is now a bloody civilian. Ignorance has robbed you of the knowlege that he has to operate within the ambits of a constitution. In other words, jail A,B or C is not within his powers, the institutions do it.

The out-going Vice Chancellor of the University of
Ibadan recently commented on what he expects the
incoming administration that will be led by General
Buhari to do in the education sector.

According to him, there are already agreements on
ground signed by the outgoing administration which
promised to release N1.3trillion to the Universities.
He mentioned that the Academic Staff Union of
Universities, will tackle Buhari if he fails to act in his
first six months in office.
In his words, "... Buhari will have to find money to
pay for the settlement of the 2014 and 2015
agreement."

"If he cannot get money immediately, he will have to
call ASUU to a meeting and tell its members that he
needs a breathing space on the challenges he
inherited. He must state his reasons and I am sure
that the union, being an association of responsible
people, will listen to him. The President cannot
pretend that the agreement does not exist."

"He will have to do a surgical operation in the
education sector. We need to rebuild from the
foundation. We must not only pay attention to
tertiary education, we also need to pay attention to
tertiary and secondary education systems.
Education cannot be an orphan."

"Buhari must put in place a mechanism to rebuild
education in the country. People should not see the
education sector as an item of expenditure but a
short path to national development." He added.

All these are on ground when Gej was still building universities. The ones on ground you have not funded them. Sometimes i find difficult to understand Gej. Taking some decisions he shouldnt have taken.
