The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has confirmed that Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and his predecessor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu indeed had a disagreement.

He said this on Thursday, May 8, as the outgoing governor of the state openly apologised to all Lagosians whom he said, might have been affected by different decisions he had taken in office.

Speaking at the Lagos TV complex, Agidingbi during a celebration of Fashola’s 2,900th day in office, the monarch said he did not realize the seriousness of the feud between the two politicians until almost all the Obas in the state called his attention to the development.

That was when according to him, waded in by urging both sides to sheathe swords and also extracted commitment to suspend the animosity in the collective interest of all Lagos residents.

Speaking in Yoruba language, the Oba noted that a majority of those responsible for the feud were also in the audience as they successfully created an industry out of reporting to “Party A” what “Party B” had said about him and vice-versa.



In the same vein, he accused some alleged fifth columnists of working against the choice of the president-elect Muhammadu Buhari, some of whom he said were seated right in front of him.

The same people, he contended, have started pitting the duo of Tinubu and General Buhari against each other the same way they set the former against Fashola.



“People, who are now telling Buhari all sorts of things, are sycophants. They did not want Buhari to emerge winner in the election. These people know themselves. When it gets to a stage, I will name them one after the other. I am not afraid of human beings,” Akiolu explained.

Oba u are an old Baby. If u got no respect for ur age at least respect the position the Yoruba nation has bestowed upon u. U messed up yourself by getting involved in vile political campaigns. Even APC denied to have been associated with ur pronouncements. Buhari is an older man n won't judge one-sidedly. Don't bring ur (ani)mal-behaviour to the man we voted in. He doesn't need snitches like you.

This is nonsense. People are free to express their freedom as to who to vote for and who not to vote for. Why will anybody be victimized for expressing their fundamental human right.

I swear this oba of lagos na idiat. He's jes wetting his crown into mud.

I blame the children of Oba who have forsaken their father out of his overgrown stupidity. Is time for them to hold their father. This is very disgracefully. I can't imagine my father reeling himself on the floor to be insulted by the public.

Even though this oba is an Apc sympathiser, am beginning to find his public rants rather un pleasing. This is so unbecoming of an Oba.

When a clueless man is your hero and a tout is your role model, I wonder what that combination will amount to.

I am beginning to get totally fed up with the displays of this oba. Whenever he opens his mouth, you confirm that he doesn't not have the wisdom the that fits the throne.

He is not a builder and definitely not wise!

He is now yapping around like an unprogrammed robot. Who in his right senses crowns an ex-Nigerian police man who publicly admitted to sharing bribes his Oba? This can only happen in an environment full of self adulating individuals. The same "shõfistikédi" clan that made a proven drug lord their political leader while wagging their scraggy fingers on the faces of other peoples leaders for their percieved flaws..
