Ace lawyer and activist, Festus Keyamo has stated that the current government, led by President Goodluck Jonathan was all about the stomachs of those around him.

Keyamo was reacting to a recent statement credited to President Jonathan while receiving the PDP campaign report from the Presidential Campaign Organisation (PCO) at the presidential villa, where he said those who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the PDP would return hungry.

“Those people (PDP members) running and those already cross carpeting”, President Goodluck Jonathan was reported to have said, “will come back on an empty stomach because they (APC leaders) will touch the primary members of their party, before they get to you. They know you are coming because you are hungry. Before it will get to you, the food will be gone.”

Reacting to the submission, the legal practitioner said, “My reaction the first day I heard the statement was that I immediately twitted through my twitter handle @fkeyamo that this clearly confirms that the Jonathan government and PDP were all about filling their stomachs.

“That was an extremely careless utterance by the President, but it contains a real suspicion of truth. By his utterances and his hackneyed approach to governance, Jonathan painted a picture of someone not fit to be a Local Government Chairman what more a bigger office. Inasmuch as I want to respect the institution of the Presidency, the very person who occupies it is debasing it by his actions and utterances.

“So, to protect the Presidency, we must carefully separate the occupant who is destroying it and let the world see him for who he is.

“My prayer is that may the circumstances that threw up a president who was never ready for that office never befalls us again.”

The mistake called Jonathan should not have happened in the first place but anyway we hope things CHANGE.

You and Keyamo are both right.... If not for the unecessary sentimentality and prejudices of the Nigerian masses, GEJ has no business running even a local government.

I think all youths should realise from the story of GEJ V Buhari that it is better to have leaders who stand for something rather than nothing .... and I say this in all seriousness, a man who stands for a clear goal, whether positive or negative is more likely to be a success in what he chooses to do. Using negative examples, the world shook at the impacts people like Osama and Shekau ( islamic extremists), Mugabe and Abacha (anti white/despots) made; now what exactly is the world suppose to remember GEJ's 6 years for- emancipation and progression for NDeltans? Transformation Agenda?

Youths stand for something and make it crystal clear to people what your stance is, for even if you fail in the beginning you will surely succeed later if you don't give up; and hopefully we will all choose to stand for the important and right things in life so when success comes, the whole world benefits, not just your village; Martin Luther King is a shinning example.

When despotic and conservative governments all over Africa are openly mocking you, you know something is wrong.

Jonathan himself knows it and is even sort of proud of PDP's food basket ideology, hence his Goat and Yam analogy and his insistence that post election defeat defectors will return with empty stomachs

As I always posit, Jonathan is/was an accidental president who never had any vision nor desire to lead and therefore couldn't muster the grace to manage the good fortunes God bestowed upon him.

God will bless you. I was thinking I"m the only one who observed. Honestly, at this point, even GEJites should reexamine their values. A president who made such careless statements every time he speaks. This is not the first and neither will it be the last. I keep realizing why this guy must not stay beyond May29 everyday. To say he's a ph.D holder is a disgrace to all doctorate holders.
A president whose international relationship is bad...
A president who claim ignorance of happenings around him.
A president who love to go down than to control his 'husband'.
A president who only befriends people with criminal records.
What is left?....... He's an epitome of everything wrong with Nigeria.

The president has a knack for making very childish and unguarded remarks. Sometimes I wanna believe his handicap is in his command of english, hence the difficulty he faces in expressing himself in such a manner as to reflect how he feels inside, but I then imagine this cannot be the case when I juxtapose his utterances with his actions.

The man is simply unfit to govern. He never was and I doubt he ever will be.

Can this loudmouthed jackass last for few days without something in his bloody stomach? Nigerian has run and will continue to run the government of stomach infrastructure. There is no leader in Nigeria that has ever returned to his or her private practice after a stint with the government except the shady deal involving Obasanjo and Ota farm. In fact, GEJ could likely break the ice if he chooses to return to his fishery farm or academia.

Jonathan government is all about looting.
