Hello Christians who are really passionate about God . Today , I want to talk about many misconceptions about the creation story . I've read interesting debates concerning this issue(creation story) and I want to address some things most Christians find mind boggling .

Errmm , I wanted to write about pre-adamic creation (life before Adam , yes there was) but let me deal with this first.

So here are few things the Bible never said about the creation story

1.The beginning was 6,000 years ago
Genesis 1:1

Ive always talked about God being a self-existent and ageless being .He is the creator of living things , planets , universe etc. Now ,this verse has always been misunderstood . Its just talking about the original creation of the universe billions of years ago .

2.The earth was created 6,000 years ago
Genesis 1:1-2

My God ! Christians have been mocked with the 'earth is 6,000 years old ' thingy and its very embarrassing . People get these two verses mixed up . Periods of Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 are different . Genesis 1:2 is talking about the period of restoration of earth and recreation of natural forms in it . A lot happened between these two periods which will be addressed in another thread.

3.Light and darkness were created in day 1 as seen in Genesis 1:5

Genesis 1:5

The functionalities of the sun and moon on earth were restored on day 1

4.The sun , moon and stars were created on day 4

No no no they weren't .They were created in the beginning before the existence of earth . God just regulated them in connection with the restored earth

5.Animals , birds ,man were first created on day 5 and 6

Some were created during the pre-adamic age but were destroyed by the first universal flood (Lucifer's flood). This would be addressed fully in a new thread . A quick bible reference

2 Peter 3:5-7

6.Vegetation came forth for the first time in day 3 .
Dear Christian, Jeremiah 4:23-26 doesn't agree with you

This proves that there was vegetation during the pre-adamic age

7.The earth was created 6,000 years ago

No sir/ma , it was restored 6,000 years ago
A quick look at Genesis 1:1-2

"... and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters ", what waters ? And we all thought the earth was created in day 3 ! Seeeee ... after God destroyed everything on earth in the first universal flood , there was chaos and it was flooded . God then began its restoration as His Spirit was hovering over the waters.

And yes ,Satan lived among the pre-adamic men or during the age of the 'first earth' .Look at Isaiah 14:12-14

This happened during pre-adamic age not after the 'creation ' ( recreation) . Some think this happened moments before the "talking snake" caused the fall of man

8.That Adam was the first man God created .
Adam was a recreation of man in God's image . Isaiah 14:12-14 , Jeremiah 4:23-26 and 2 Peter 3:5-7 quoted above have already proven that 'men and nations' existed before Adam .

9.That the universe , earth are a product of evolution .
Nope, God created all of them

Ephesians 3:9

Colossians 1:15-18

10. Man is a product of evolution - from lower life forms , to cave men
The Bible says God created man perfect and intelligent
Genesis 1:27

Evolution denies the first cause. The theory starts with matter being in existence . The theory is that all forms of life derived from gradual modification from simpler forms to a complex form.

Genesis 1:21

A Christian should not accept evolution because

1.evolution says man evolved from beast , so our Lord Jesus Christ was an evolved beast or a product of evolution?
2.The bible clearly stated that we (men) are created in God's image , ET clearly denies that
3.ET also degrades God's image to a mere beast
4.It nullifies the idea of the Bible creation by God
5. It denies miracles , the supernatural and the bodily resurrection of Christ ... and I can go on and on

cc: lalasticlala

Please , You can ask me questions if need be

Let me also add that when the Bible speaks of a day it means a thousand years, if you recall 2peter 3:9b says "one day with God is a thousand years and a thousand years as one day". this means that each creative day amounts to a thousand years in God's eye going by this calculation we can conclude that God created everything for 6000 years.
And on the 7th day he rest, mind you God is still resting because the 7th day is yet to come to an end, remember a day is equal to a thousand years so the 7th day amount to a thousand years.
Research shows that when this 7th day comes to end which signals the end of God's rest, God's Kingdom will come and armageddon will strike.
presently we are living at the edge of the conclusion of the 7th day.

There isn't enough Biblical evidence for a pre-Adamic creation or for Lucifer's flood. It is just convenient for people to use to explain Biblical discrepancies.

It sounds good but it's guesswork, and was initially suggested and then popularized by Finis Jennings Dake in his annotated Bible.

2 Pet 3:5-7 might have been about Noah's flood.
Jer 4:23-26 might not be an actual event. It might be a prophetic description.
Isa 14:12-14 is clearly not literal. The fall describes is not a physical coming down to earth. The story corroborates accounts told about Lucifer's fall in Revelations

Question: "Is the concept of Lucifer's Flood biblical?" Answer: There have been attempts by some Christians to reinvent the Genesis account of the creation in order to make it compatible with the theories of modern geology and evolution. Of these attempts, there are three that are most popular: theistic evolution, progressive creation, and the gap theory, from which the term Lucifer’s flood, also known as the Luciferian flood, is derived. There is only one reason why Christians attempt to compromise God’s Word in this manner—they have accepted the claims of modern geologists and evolutionists that the earth is millions, if not billions, of years old, and they look for ways to squeeze these unfounded millions of years into the Genesis account. Basically, the gap theory, which for some incorporates the so-called Lucifer’s flood, teaches that many millions of years ago God created a perfect heaven and earth ( Genesis 1:1) . At that time, Satan was ruler of the earth, which was inhabited by a race of men without any souls. Satan rebelled, and sin entered the universe after Satan’s rebellion and fall from heaven and brought God’s judgment in the form of a flood named for him—Lucifer’s flood. All the plant, animal and human fossils upon the earth today were caused by this flood and do not bear any genetic relationship with the plants, animals and humans living today. This flood is said to have occurred between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, and it was this Luciferian flood that reduced the world to a state described as “without form and void” in Genesis 1:2.
The gap theory claims that the earth is very old, possibly millions of years, based on the observation that rock layers form very slowly today. The gap theorists claim to believe in a six- day creation and insist that they are against evolution. However, the same geologic evidence is used as proof for millions of years by evolutionists. For that reason, the gap theorists must now “play” with the Scriptures. They must propose that God literally reshaped the earth and re-created all life in six literal days, but not until after a Luciferian flood which produced the fossils we see today.
But there are some serious problems with this compromise with the Scriptures. First of all, the gap theory forces millions of years into the “gap” between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 without any regard for biblical and scientific accuracy, and then claims to hold to a literal Genesis. This, in turn, brings up the question of the meaning of the term “literal.” “Literal” means “word-for-word accuracy.” Either God’s Word is literally true, or it is interpreted. It is impossible to have a literal interpretation; that would be an oxymoron because the two terms are mutually exclusive. If one’s interpretation of the Bible is contradicted by another verse in the Bible, that interpretation cannot be correct if we hold to a literal Genesis account of creation.
If God created a perfect heaven and earth, then all life on earth must also be perfect. If this “perfect life” was the source of the fossils buried by Lucifer’s flood, and sin entered this world by Satan’s rebellion, why do these same fossils show abundant evidence for disease and deformities by modern scientific analysis? The presence of disease and deformities in fossils proves that all things could not have been perfect and sin was already present before the flood that buried them. If sin was present before God’s judgment of Satan, then either the Bible is wrong or the gap theory is flawed. If Lucifer’s flood was God’s judgment against Satan, and the earth was destroyed to such a state that it was without form and void, why did this flood not destroy the fossil record as well? What about Noah’s flood? Gap theorists must assume it had no significance. If Noah’s flood was not significant, why is the story of Noah used throughout the Bible to show God’s judgment on man, while Lucifer’s flood is never mentioned once? How can someone believe that Noah’s flood was insignificant and then believe in a literal Genesis?
The truth is that even the Bible shows the problem with the gap theory. Though the Bible doesn’t reveal all the details of God’s creation in modern scientific terms, to believe modern geologists and evolutionists and their unfounded millions and billions of years is nothing less than believing the words of man (science) instead of the Word of God.
Does it really matter whether we accept a “literal” interpretation of the Creation? The answer is “yes!” The gap theorists with their concept of the Luciferian flood believe that there was death before Adam, but the Bible declares unequivocally the opposite to be true. Romans 5:12 states that “sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin,” so to accept the concept of death before the time of Adam is to destroy the foundational message of the cross: “For just as through the disobedience of the one man [Adam] the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man [Jesus Christ] the many will be made righteous” ( Romans 5:19).
To advocate the concept of death before Adam sinned is diametrically opposed to Scripture’s explanation that death came after Adam sinned and became the necessity for man’s redemption. Genesis records a catastrophe responsible for destroying everything that had the “breath of life” in them, except for those preserved in the ark. Christ refers to the global flood in Noah’s day in Matthew 24:37-39, and Peter writes that just as there was once a worldwide judgment of mankind by water, so there will be another worldwide judgment, this time by fire ( 2 Peter 3).
The theory of Lucifer's flood is completely without scriptural evidence and must be rejected.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches
the wise in their craftiness.

these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
how would somebody without the spirit of God know the deep things of God? no way!

Evolution never said or suggested that men evolved from beast. It is men's misconception of evolution that concluded that. Pick up a good book on evolution to read up on the suggestion.

Evolution of natural selection states that, all lives are related and descended from a common ancestor. Put simply, complex creatures evolved from more simplistic ancestors naturally over time.

It never state that men evolved from apes, or birds evolved from lizards.

Even today's science of natural genetic mutation and metamorphosis shows time, over time dominant genes survives the race condition and recessive or weaker genes dies off.

Note that, Darwin's theory of evolution never answered the question of "beginning or the origin of all things". Evolution presupposes these existences, hence it does not contradict the Bible or Genesis account of creationism.

An indept student of the Bible and the Darwin's theory of Evolution's natural selection will note the difference and see one do not contradict the other.

To clarify:

- The earth isn't 6000 years old.
- The homo sapiens specie (probably beginning around Adam) might be about 6000 years old but there would have been previous human versions.
- Believing God created the universe and other aspects of creation does not mean evolution didn't take place. God as a creator could have started the evolution process and left it to mature over time. Just like when you plant an apple seed and it grows and becomes an apple tree. This view is called theistic evolution and that's what I believe in.

Answer: There have been attempts by some
Christians to reinvent the Genesis account of the
creation in order to make it compatible with the
theories of modern geology and evolution. Of
these attempts, there are three that are most
popular: theistic evolution, progressive creation,
and the gap theory, from which the term
Lucifer’s flood, also known as the Luciferian
flood, is derived.
There is only one reason why
Christians attempt to compromise God’s Word in
this manner—they have accepted the claims of
modern geologists and evolutionists that the
earth is millions, if not billions, of years old, and
they look for ways to squeeze these unfounded
millions of years into the Genesis account.
Basically, the gap theory, which for some
incorporates the so-called Lucifer’s flood,
teaches that many millions of years ago God
created a perfect heaven and earth ( Genesis 1:1)
.
At that time, Satan was ruler of the earth, which

The gap theory claims that the earth is very old,

If God created a perfect heaven and earth, then
all life on earth must also be perfect. If this
“perfect life” was the source of the fossils buried

Satan’s rebellion, why do these same fossils

deformities by modern scientific analysis? The
presence of disease and deformities in fossils
proves that all things could not have been
perfect and sin was already present before the
flood that buried them. If sin was present before
God’s judgment of Satan, then either the Bible is
wrong or the gap theory is flawed.
If Lucifer’s flood was God’s judgment against
Satan, and the earth was destroyed to such a
state that it was without form and void, why did
this flood not destroy the fossil record as well?
What about Noah’s flood? Gap theorists must
assume it had no significance. If Noah’s flood
was not significant, why is the story of Noah
used throughout the Bible to show God’s
judgment on man, while Lucifer’s flood is never
mentioned once? How can someone believe that
Noah’s flood was insignificant and then believe
in a literal Genesis?

The truth is that even the Bible shows the
problem with the gap theory. Though the Bible
doesn’t reveal all the details of God’s creation in
modern scientific terms, to believe modern
geologists and evolutionists and their unfounded
millions and billions of years is nothing less than
believing the words of man (science) instead of
the Word of God.

Does it really matter whether we accept a
“literal” interpretation of the Creation? The
answer is “yes!” The gap theorists with their
concept of the Luciferian flood believe that there
was death before Adam, but the Bible declares
unequivocally the opposite to be true. Romans
5:12 states that “sin entered the world through
one man, and death through sin,” so to accept
the concept of death before the time of Adam is
to destroy the foundational message of the
cross: “For just as through the disobedience of
the one man [Adam] the many were made
sinners, so also through the obedience of the
one man [Jesus Christ] the many will be made
righteous” ( Romans 5:19).

To advocate the
concept of death before Adam sinned is
diametrically opposed to Scripture’s explanation
that death came after Adam sinned and became
the necessity for man’s redemption.
Genesis records a catastrophe responsible for
destroying everything that had the “breath of
life” in them, except for those preserved in the
ark. Christ refers to the global flood in Noah’s
day in Matthew 24:37-39, and Peter writes that
just as there was once a worldwide judgment of
mankind by water, so there will be another
worldwide judgment, this time by fire ( 2 Peter 3).

The theory of Lucifer's flood is completely
without scriptural evidence and must be
rejected.

I think it is really sad when people who are not properly educated about evolution insist on talking about it with hard opinions. One ends up taking a lot of nonsense. This is science, not pop culture.

If I get God power, why will it take me 6k years to create heaven and earth?

in a vain to justify creationism, you diminish God.

Good brain work. Though as a christian there are some biblical teachings u have to accept dogmatically just as st. Paul has warned us not to take heed to philosophical thinking but all the same man need to be enlightened. The more u try to understand the world the more confused u become. The place I took very serious in ur thread was the time concerning the fall of the devil. U rily helped me. I'll make more research.

InesQor:
To clarify:

- The earth isn't 6000 years old.
exactly

- The homo sapiens specie (probably beginning around Adam) might be about 6000 years old but there would have been previous human versions.

theistic evolutionist , you are playing the "thinking christian"

1.So explain the fall of man . Is it literal or figurative?

2.Genesis 1:27

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Creation is a process but no an evolutionary one. God had to wait for millions of years before man was made it his image , after evolving from a lower form?

Believing God created the universe and other aspects of creation does not mean evolution didn't take place. God as a creator could have started the evolution process and left it to mature over time[/b]. Just like when you plant an apple seed and it grows and becomes an apple tree. This view is called theistic evolution and that's what I believe in.

Theistic evolution hold no water at all .

Op save yourself the stress. The Bible stories were stolen from other races and tribes which all happens to be a myth. There is nothing spectacular about it.

As for the creation story every tribe and race have their own story and version of creation for thousands of years before the Bible was even written or the concept of Bible was thought. The sumerians, Egyptians, dogons, yorubas, igbos, babylonia, etc name them all have their own story of creation which when compared to the Bible story it's almost all the same. What made this stories more unique than the Bible story is that they have been told for thousands of years before the biblical story so for it, I don't take the biblical story to be serious.
