In my opinion, i believe every student is given some amount of (pocket) money for up keep. Hence with proper planning at the beginning of the semester (no 1) you gonna have food to eat (maybe not 3 times daily) and you won't have to trek to school EVERYDAY. I swear d person Ain't gonna fail.

One of the best students in my sec.school was from a family that wasn't well to do.
Coincidentally (or not), he and his 2 younger brothers were academically brilliant.
He's presently a full time staff @ naoc @Abuja, while the younger bro works @ Chevron.

This is a really nice piece however, it's a bit more complicated than that. The reality is other extraneous, uncontrollable factors affect one's academic success, atleast as an undergraduate. From d little experience I garnered as an undergraduate, the key thing is to know what works for you. For example, I had a written and specific plan of what I wanted to achieve in terms of my GPA @ d end of my 1st semester as an undergrad, but I didn't end up achieving anytin close to it as I could only manage 3.8 den.Henceforth, I simply decided to not put any pressure on myself, and just make sure I put in my very best in all my courses, and from that point till now, I av made 5.0 GPA three times....As far as I'm concerned, just know what works for you and pray for God's favour in all you do...

What's this one saying because you have someone to give you pocket money does not mean every student has that opportunity. Some are self sponsored like me so forget about pocket money
