The truth is that three answers are possible for this question. The ordinary dude will see 1. The very intelligent one will see 2. Only when those two answers have been proven wrong, will the very intelligent one see the 3rd.

First answer = 96
second answer = 88
third answer = 1.

The first two are very logical and both correct.
The logic of the third will only come when the first two have been marked wrong.

That's illogical. Of what use is the premise you displayed in that picture? Logically, the answer is 96.

Let me explain to you guys in simple terms.
We have
1=4
2=8
Notice the sequence here... next should be
3=16
But rather we have
3=24
Meaning the sequence have been broken implying we have a two sequence aptitude.
next we have
4=?
A question to be answered..Meaning the sequence start all over again.
Now taking it all over we have
3=24
4=48
According to the sequence.
