Breaking News: Constitution Amendment Veto Threat: Senate Backs Down by Elslim(op): 1:46pm On May 13, 2015
…We’re lawmakers and not law breakers-Mark
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru & Joseph Erunke
ABUJA -THE Senate has succumbed to the Supreme Court ruling over the Constitution amendment as it suspended every action about it after a closed-door session.
The Senate President, Senator David Mark who presided over the plenary said “we are law makers and will not be law breakers. We are not just lawmakers, we are very senior responsible citizens and very senior lawmakers”
Senator Mark, however, said that the Senate will not be taken for granted.
Details soon.

In simple English who can explain why a constitutional amendment is causing so much bohaha. What are the real contentious issues because I know politicians never take anything serious if it does not affect them very directly.

.....

You are not law breakers but you and your cohorts coerced the RMAFC to increase the NASS budget from # 50b to #150b annually and also ensured constituency allowance that is supposed to to go local govts is "collected" on their "behalf" by the "lawbreakers"

This ammendment would have passed if PDP hadn't lost the presidential election.

The threat about the senate not one to be taken for granted is an empty one cos you will be watching proceeding from the floor @ the 8th assembly.

Ok, what did Senator Mark and his co-Senators achieved in this last four years undecided

No constitution amendment, no fuel, no water, so many Nigerians dying in their numbers and untold hardship across the land
