After watching the airport staff who returned N12m equivalent in the airport here in Nigeria. I decided to seek the opinion of a friend who is a christian. I asked him if he would have returned the money. He said said "NO" . I was shocked, but by the time he presented his case with scriptures from the bible i became confused. HIS CASE. 1, N7,000 monthly salary, is wickedness and GOD has been in heaven watching the wickedness of the govt upon this lady who has been serving him faithfully. How can someone be paid N 7000 a month? He said GOD decided to visit her, and she missed the hour of her visitation (Luke 19:44 ) And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. 2, He also said, whoever would carry 12m and forget it, has 10 times more than that in the account. He also said that 90% of people who carry such loose funds around, are corrupt politicians and those in high places in Nigeria. They are the ones responsible for the suffering of the ordinary man. He said for every 1 Nigerian billionaire, there are 12 million Nigerians suffering because of him or her. He said that money was meant for that lady (Proverbs 13:22) A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. 3, He said something we dont understand how GOD acts. So we sometimes misinterpret his actions. (Luke 16 vs 1-  And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord? And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. |

I see some Christains viewing this thread, and saying i dont want to lie so i wont comment  If i say i wont return the money, they will say i am not a good christian and i have my reputation on nairaland to protect . If i say i will, i will be lying and today is Sunday |

osile2012:I'm a christian but I'm not a church goer and I can tell you that your friend is a theif and not a christian because in the bible there is a portion that says *Let the world see christ in you* so the question for your friend is What Would Jesus Do |

ECOTERRORS:Exactly my point. Asked him now and he said. "Would Jesus be working for 7k a month in an airport? Would he have allowed a few Corrupt Politicians in Nigeria be milking the nation dry while he suffers at the airport? . That if i answered this, then he would tell me what he would do . |
