Their income stream is like this. 220,000*47,000 = N10.3Billion.

Visa fee non refundable is N47,000 per applicant. Imagine how much USA is making annually from Nigerians.

If your purpose is traveling for sightseeing or holiday, it is worth it, otherwise, you should be well-prepared in terms of finances as it is expensive staying in the states. Living in the states can be challenging especially when you're not employed. Expenses such as feeding(about $500 per month), rents and bills (an average of $1000 per month if you share an apartment; $1700 if you don't) could be detrimental at times. Before you actualize your papers(which might as well be expensive in most cases), get a job( which needless to say,in most cases is meager) , and so on, you may have spent millions which obviously is considerable enough to start a business in Nigeria.

Before you take that step, assess your current situation and evaluate if it is worth it.

That is just one embassy. By the time we add the figures of other embassies in Nigeria, you would realize the average man is tired of Nigeria. If only we could get residency in other sane countries and Let these politicians rule themselves and eat up Nigeria like the termites they are. Their eyes go clear.

Did you take note of Non-immigrant visa mentioned? So, visiting other countries means there is no love for home?

95% of America visa applicants from Nigeria get rejected.

They dont take us serious here but they make so much money from us.

They reject many genuine applicants without any genuine reason.

Nigerians should be enlightened and not be carried away by the American image, there are so many other beautiful tourist nations to visit.

Its the lack of awareness about the difficulty to get the American Visa that make so many Nigerians waste their money to apply for their Visa.

That's incorrect.
The bulk of travelers fall within the categories of $160 or N31,200 ( consular exchange rate is N195).
Athletes, and religious workers, etc pay N37,050. Category K (spouse of US citizen) pays the highest, N51,675

The annoying part is that our embassies in their countries should have been returning this same favor by rejecting all visas for expatriates and let's see whether they would not change their ways.
