US President and world’s most powerful man, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have less than $1,001 in savings, according to their annual financial disclosure report released on Friday.
The modest sum is all that’s left in the first family’s JP Morgan account after putting away between $200,004 and $400,000 for daughters Sasha and Malia to go to college.
Their assets are worth at least $1.9 million – and perhaps as much as $6.9 million.But they’re light years away from the net worth of Hillary and former president Bill Clinton, who have earned more than $30 million in speaking fees and book royalties alone in the past 16 months.
The Obamas also lack the real estate savvy that the Clintons showed in their Arkansas Whitewater Investment days.

One can only imagine how billions of dollar will in Jonathan account if he declare his assets as the richest president in Africa. Some people will come here to tell us that he has was so rich before he became the president.

nice to knw this but dont bring it to Nigeria where politics is a business where u invest to make profit. a frnd who is a member of a state assembly said its an investment that u pray works in your favour(election). our senators earn more than mr Obama and his own is abt creating history and leaving a legacy. but here in Nigeria where before a president finish adressing the Nation, u get more dan a hundred ehhh ehhh ehhh. Am still praying for Nigeria and its many challenges cos we dont hav a problem.
