Where is Olusegun Olutoyin Aganga? Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment. The man behind the Industrialisation of Nigeria.. Ur list is faulty !

Please, I think we can learn from each other, I will like to know which industrialization are you referring to?

Ajaokuta is not working
There is no single electronic chips manufacturing outfit in Nigeria
We only have importation of autoparts which is been coupled and renamed here in Nigeria.

How has that turn Nigeria into an industrialized nation?

Please may be I don't have other details about this industrialization achievement that you do. You may kindly wish to share it with us on this forum for prosperity and learning.

Thank you.

As we countdown to May 29, 2015, when the Goodluck Jonathan administration will vacate the seat of power, it is not all gloomy as there are outstanding men and women in the administration that used the instruments of their office to better the life of the common man on the street.

Naij.com has compiled 5 of these outstanding individuals that Nigerians won’t forget in a hurry.
Read below:

1. Professor Chinedu Nebo: The former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has indeed been outstanding. The Minister of Power have overseen a tedious privatisation process of the power sector devoid of rancour as was the case in the past. He has also been consistent with his regular briefing of the media and Nigerians in order to keep everyone up-to-date on the progress in the sector. Though not much have been achieved yet, Nigerians will no doubt start to see the manifestation of his handiwork in the nearest future, provided the incoming Buhari administration continues from where he stopped and make corrections where he made mistakes.

2. Dr. Omobola Johnson: It is not really a surprise that she has performed well. Not your typical politician, Johnson left her position as the Country Manager of Accenture to take assume the role of Nigeria’s Minister of Communications. Her sterling performance and revolutionary policies are visible for all to see. She has also focused heavily on empowering young girls in Information Communication Technology and it has paid off immensely.

3. Ambassador Aminu Wali: The Kano-born former Nigerian Ambassador to China has brought to bear his diplomatic experience at the foreign ministry. A perfect gentleman, his robust foreign policies have seen Nigeria, for the first time, stand up to ungrateful countries like South-Africa, United Arab Emirates and some Asian countries. Wali has done a good job in standing for the rights of Nigerians abroad although much still needs to be done in this direction. But he has started on a right note, and it is expected that whoever fills his big shoes in the Buhari administration, will continue from where he stopped.

4. Osita Chidoka: Chidoka’s short stint in the Ministry of Aviation has proven that saying that says “It is not how far, but how well”. The former head of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) hit the ground running immediately he assumed office. In an industry that has been under consistent crisis, Chidoka became a rallying point for all the stakeholders in the industry mostly because of the professional way he handled issues pertaining the industry. He has worked tirelessly to improve on the safety standards of the industry and has carried on working despite Jonathan’s loss at the polls. Nigeria definitely need men like Chidoka in public service.

5. Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina: This list would not be complete without the name of Dr. Adeshina. It is not for nothing that he is currently one of the leading contenders for the role of the president of Africa Development Bank (ADB). Adeshina’s revolutionary achievements in the agricultural sector has opened up opportunities in the sector that was hitherto comatose and begging for attention. From the availability of fertilizers to the ordinary farmers, to the loans available to them and the investment flowing into the sector, Akinwunmi is no doubt the most outstanding Minister under Jonathan and he should be proud of himself. One can only wish him luck in his aspiration to lead the ADB.

This makes no sense. Aganga, the only good minister Jonathan had isn't there. Only Nebo for selling distribution to distribute non-existent power so he can continue pumping public funds into them, and Wali, the most clueless persdon to occupy that ministry. Of course, Adeshina would be there. He was good at noisemaking with nothing to show for it.
Re: 5 GEJ Ministers That Performed Very Well by KENNSAMMY(m): 9:49pm On May 24, 2015
Minister of Agriculture tried but the impact is not seen - maybe due to corruption.

I have always waited to see cassava bread in the market. It shud be by far cheaper than wheat flour bread and so we can finish as many loafs as possible without hesitations. Infact, it shud campagn for Him GEJ

I have waited to see how cultivated, harvested and baggaged in Nigeria Rice will naturlly put an end or drastically reduce the imported ones by its far better quality and affordability.

Beans has since been increasing outrageously all the way and presently around 500/small measure!

Other farm produce that one can think of are unreasonably expensive except for Egg and I do not see how this administration inputs has brought that about.

Except these ministers served in another country other than nigeria, then am not 2 sure d author of this piece got his/her facts right. Most of d so called achievements highlighted are vague and ambiguous. Not much on specifics. Its more like a PR job. It lacks substance. if these 5 out of at least of 36 others "did well",then d last 4years went down d drain

I think Omobola Johnson is overrated tho she did well according to the resources available to her and she's a technocrat. 2. She left Accenture, so what! undecided . What's the biggie? If na you nko

[b]dis is probably one of most shocking posts i've ever read on NL. Pls try & educate urself on d buyers of PHCN & u'll see dat they ar d usual suspects - govt sponsors, fronts & cronies. Privatization of PHCN like all others under d PDP was never about promoting efficiency but about asset stripping, sharing of our national patrimony & concentrating d assets of our nation in d hands of a privileged few. d govt corporations, infrastructure etc built over many years & generations & dat should rightly belong to our children & grand children now belong to a cabal of govt sponsors in deals dat reek of corruption & infamy. d latest in dis privatization scams is d last minute-sale of NITEL/MTEL to Tunde Ayeni's NATCOM.
Arabian Amlak for Investment Limited made an offer of $919,999,999 to buy Nitel/Mtel only for it to be sold to Tunde Ayeni's NATCOM for a paltry $252.25m.
Ayeni was also a beneficiary of d PHCN "sale". & was d guy who donated 2b naira to GEJ's campaign.

Ask urself has electricity situation improved under Nebo?. I just received an estimated electricity bill of 21,000 naira in one month dat i didn't use.

Is it update that matters or result?
Re: 5 GEJ Ministers That Performed Very Well by mbulela: 11:01pm On May 24, 2015
Chidoka has always been a hype man right from his days at frsc.
Manufacturing praises for doing nothing. We understand how he operates. He did the sum zero of nothing.

While I agree that Akinwumi did not bring downstream prices of foodstuff with his policies, his are long term actions that will yield results in due course. Most of them are not even reversible that is the good part.

I struggled understand what Nebo's name is doing there? Maybe as comic relief.

I am shocked that Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe is not there. She has quietly gone about her business and laying solid steps for long term water sufficiency. most wars in Africa are due to water than natural resources.

Not forgetting Aganga , who seems to have a clear idea what to do and has measurable results.

Omobola Johnson has done the sum total of nothing.
Like a typical management consultant, all her ministry has done in her tenure is hold pointless lectures and seminars. Pointless jamboree. The analogue digital migration is at cross roads, no clear direction on driving Internet usage and making it contribute to the economy. Most of what isbhapprning in that space is happening inspite of government's inactivity. The woman is just matter (has weight and occupies space). Her first class brain has not been justified.

In summary, tacky list.

you should use bullet point to list verifiable achievement. I believe we are now tired of celebrating sentiment based mediocrity in this country .

even the adesina we are shouting is doubtful but I will like to be proven wrong. where is the cassava bread? where is food mass produced and fit for export. even fruits planted Ghana and ivory coast and better prepared and packaged and subsequently preferred by foreign importers. The beauty of adesina's work is in his laptop

the only clear performers in the outgoing administration are fashola and akpabio
