He was only hustling it out at the Reebok Stadium 4yrs ago, but look where he is now and what he has now.

Before we signed this guy, all I knew him to be was the kinda defender who'd hit the row z when under pressure and who'd lunge in tackles every now and then, just a typical English defender.

At that time, there were consideration to sign either him, Scott Dann or Roger Johnson both of Birmingham City.

I personally wanted Roger Johnson, 'cos he appeared more like a modern day defender to me. Not always hitting the row z, great in interceptions and always comfortable with the ball in his feet. Infact of the three dudes, I think he was more technically adept. The Daily Telegraph even had to describe him as ''an inspiring defensive presence throughout''.

Fortunately, we went for Cahill.

Fast forward to 2015, he's won virtually everything to be won in club football. Whilst Dann is battling it out at Palace and my man Johnson at Wolves.

Dude is blessed.
