This is the proper way to go.The vehicles are supposed to be depreciated at 25% per annum and after 4 years,the net book value should be about 0%.So if they can get 25% of it then i think its a good deal.

JEEP is a car brand name belonging to a company. But with years, it has assumed a generic meaning to replace or be used in place of SUV.

With the dire state of our economy, we do not need a bi-camera legislature. The motley crowd in the house of reps adds little or no value to our democracy. They've turned their oversight function to an avenue for blackmail and personal aggrandizement. Some of these guys spend as much as a billion naira to secure a place in the house so their first and major objective would be to recoup and profit from their investment. It's a grand delusion to think anyone of them is in that house to serve the interest of their constituency and the nation at large. All the probes they've ever embarked on have never yielded the desired result and always ended in controversies due to overt and shameless solicitation of financial inducement from the very people or institutions that are been probed

How was the depreciation calculated? If the Prado was purchased for N9m and depreciation accounts for N6.3m in 4 years, that is like N1.575m yearly. Does that means the car has no value if it is used for 2 more years?, so they will give it to them for free. A car of N9m giving away to already bellefu senator for N2.7m...SMH

All the cars and TV should have been subjected to public auction to get more cash for government. The management of the house is not keen on how to generate more money but they are only interested in how to spend the money.

There is nothing new about this, even companies offer same to employees taking depreciation and payment of an agreed percentage regarding purchase price into account. The post says the cars are not for free and anyone can decide to exercise the right to buy or not...just noting before we get overtly sentimental like I know peops would without even bothering to read the post.

No nilly for them to take the cars BUT the salvage value should be computed using the actual amount the contractors purchased the said vehicles not 'market price'. When they were buying a 9m car for 25m they didn't use 'market price.
